Thread: ISO How to: Electric Arc / Lightning | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I have the Poserstein set and I am using some props from it. I really like tilting table from the second set and would like to buy it. It seems that the Poserworks site is down, or no longer in business. Anyone know if that site is still active? (I tried to buy, but it kept failing.
I saw it on TurboSquid for $95.00 (ouch). Any other places to buy this set (for Poser)?
Anyone have a tilting table with straps like the one in the second set? (or know where I can get one like this?)
Thanks,
Dennis
Thread: Help, trying to modify groups using the group editor | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Thanks for the information. You are exactly right. My work flow is what was screwed up. I took the obj into setup and modified the rigging before I got the grouping worked out. (learn as you go mistake). That is where the problems came in.
I did get this working with the help here and from PhilC. I ended up taking the rigged obj into UV Mapper Pro and was finisihed in 5 minutes. Still, I learned a great deal yesterday.

What a mess... I check the OBJ file that Pose exported. It changed all of the group names to "Figure 2_Setup". I tried every combination of options in teh export dialogue and the only way to get the group names in the OBJ is to select "Include Exisitng Group in Polugon Groups". (First, what were they taking when they named that option?) Once you select this, it included every group name on every 'g' line ("g Group 1 Group 2, Kitty.....)
There is no way to look at the original and fix this file. It is simply too screwed up. The poser Group Editor looks to be junk.....
I have a properly grouped file in the Group Editor, I just need a way to get it out in a useable OBJ. At this point, I am ever willing to re-rig it, though I don't want to.
What if I import the orignal OBJ, edit the groups as I have done and then save it to the Library? Will it create a new cr2 file that matches the hokey OBJ? IF I do this, how will I transfer the bones from the original file to prevern re-rigging?
I have wasted most of today trying to get this and could use some advice.

Ok, I tried the first method (miilighost) after importing the OBJ as SteveJax recommended and the regrouping went well. Then I exported the OBJ to a new name.
I made a safe copy of my original OBJ and then renamed my new one to the original name so I did nto have to edit the cr2....
I loaded the PZ3 file that has the working test in it, and it finds the obj. I know this because I can select the figure and see the body parts in the pull down list. However, I do not see the figure in the viewing window. I get the red area circle when I click where it should be. Obviously I did something wrong on the export to OBJ. I selected keep polygon group names and I unslected the GROUND tier in the hiearchy...
I am close. I have the orginal regrouping part solved, but now I need to know how to get a working obj out...

I changed the name of the PYC file (I did not want to delete it.) When I run the script now, it says that a null value was passed to the python engine. Closer inspection reveals that there are .py files in the folder, but non of the same name, so I think the source is not present.
I have contacted the author and requested a current build. This looks to be a great tool.

Yes the error was in the pyc file, my mistake.
I found the Python Menu Buttons... I was looking in the wrong place. Sometimes is helps just know that they are there... and then you find them.
I will try renaming the pyc file to Pycorg and run to see if it recompiles. Thanks to both of you for the info.

Thread: Using products made for Daz Studio in Poser? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Thanks for the information, both if you. I am not new to the material room, so I will apply the textures and transparencies that way. If I get it to work, I will post back here.
I agree that this was my fault for not paying attention.

latexluv,
Very nice. It appears that only some hair kills the render engine with IL enabled. That would lead me to believe, based on your sucess, that it is only certain hair models. (A4V4 Bun Hair is givng me trouble.. Can someone try this one?
latexluv, can you post a screen shot of your render settings you used for the above picture?

You said it. IDL just doesn't like transmapped hair, it doesn't like it at all.
I tried everything to get A4V4 BunHair to work with IDL. It always hangs. I remove the hair from the scene and it renders very quickly. Anyone have any work arounds for this?
