I'm not the troll here, despite the gang-trashing I always receive. I began this thread with a perfectly clear and non-debatable statement regarding a highly relevant issue with Poser 12. Not one single member who has posted thus far on this thread has added to this material in a positive fashion. All of you have either contradicted me, posted nonsensical and off-topic garbage, or...or you've intentionally twisted what I said and tried to goad me about it. By definition all of YOU are the trolls. I said originally I was not going to "feed" the trolls but I despise having my words twisted and having my posts hijacked and used to send people to off-site locations to download things. So I've let you all goad me into responses. So be it. I'll debate you all till they lock the thread again. I'll not stand by and allow my thread to be hijacked yet again by trolls.

As for talking to myself. That statement makes no factual sense. If no one was reading this thread, none of you would be taunting me in it. Clearly the fact that you've read it and posted means it's being read. So I'm not talking to myself am I? You people all act like you're brilliant debaters with far more intellect that you actually possess and when you butt heads with someone like me it becomes all too obvious. There's a term for it. Dunning-Kruger. You're all so intellectually impaired that you can't comprehend just how impaired you really are. I know I'm not a genius. I admit I'm stupid on many topics and subjects. That's good to hear. I'm working around it by touching the node, clicking away two error messages, then saving the scene and quickly exiting the material room before Poser freezes on me. It does what it should despite the error, so it's not like it's actually not supporting these images.

If you plugged in an hdr file like Rhia474 shows above, it worked before, so it's not the file format. It occurs when you plug in a Cycles environmental texture into the background node (using the mapping and texture coordinate nodes as above). I haven't tried other setups, so this may not be the only issue. Point is, the latest update broke this. It worked before.

I could futz around with the background node using Cycles environment texture without issue in the previous build of P12, even using 8k HDRIs. This problem only occurred in the new build.

ghostship2, thanks a lot for the hint, that worked. The shader itself could still use some tweaking, but it's way better than using the principled bsdf shader.

Futzing around with La Femme and Daz's ancient Wyvern, scene is DM's Queen's Landing, lighting an HDRI. I'm still not happy with the hair shader. If someone has figured out how to make the principled hair bsdf shader accept transparency maps, I'd really appreciate a hint.

Drat. I was hoping to get my hands on him, lol. Liky randym77 said, the other new weightmapped males all have their issues, and Orion looked like he would avoid them. Sad news, but I guess I'll live.

Very glad that you're doing this, Ohki, I'm just happy that we finally have a modern male figure to play with. Sure, he's got issues, but no figure is perfect, and as long as the Poser community takes care of him, he'll be fine eventually.

@Ohki: Both, I guess, but mostly under his feet. They look flat. His feet don't really have any contours, but that is especially jarring to me.

I've been playing with him extensively, and I'd kill for a scale morph for his shoulder area, to make the shoulders wider. I tried skaling the individual groups (chest, shoulders), but results are... well, let's just say he doesn't look healthy.

Also, his feet need an arch. They look like a case for a physical therapist.

I know that it's not a corrective morph, but in case another content developer reads this, I'd also kill (or at least pay good money) for a veins/muscular striations displacement map, like the one Apollo Maximus has.

I'd love a clothing set similar to the one Apollo Maximus came with, consisting of a vest, tunic, belt, pants, and boots. The tunic had an option of being sleeveless. There was also some sort of bracers. That would be sufficient for basic fantasy stuff.

Apollo also had a second set consisting of jeans, T shirt, and modern shoes.

Seconding the enquiry after news. Not to sound weird on main, but I need a new man.

Congrats and thanks from me as well. After an initial hitch (Poser 11.2 wouldn't open after install; it stalled at the splash screen, got fixed by restarting my PC), everything is working smoothly. Also thanks for the great new content! Simply awesome.
