Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Nov 24 1:33 pm)
First of all, this is very lovely of you, responding this fast to customers. Second, yep, those are good to start with. Third, an addition: if you look at the promo renders, the bent elbows have an unnatural bulge and the other side of the arm cuts into the forearm in a way no figure's should in almost- 2020. That would also need a fix that is preferably not ' just use the morph brush, dummy'. :)
Again, thank you very much.
Thank you so much for considering making a morph pack for L'Homme, Afrodite-Ohki! I'm currently building up my wishlist with L'Homme products. Haven't picked him up yet, but I do intend to purchase the on sale items in the next day or so. I'm very excited to see what morph enhancements you come up with. As I'm mostly a dial spinner, the more morph variety we get with L'Homme, the more versatile he'll be. I tend to inject a ton of morphs into my figures and then fine tune the various morph settings to get just the look(s) I'm after.
As with all the vendors who support Poser, I thank you for all that you do for the community.
Lee
Let's also please avoid snarky remarks
Would you mind showing me a picture of the specific problem you mean? I'll have to uh study a lot of male anatomy for this LMAO and I wanna make sure I'm nailing the complaint.

This won't be technically a morph pack - at least not in the sense of having a lot of variety for every shape you might need. I might toss in a few full-body morphs just to help with the diversity though. Pretty much I just wanna tackle the complaints I've seen about LH - I'm of the belief that one thing can't please everyone, but if we can add up options we might please lots more people And I really think LH can shine, specially with the whole using LF's wardrobe thing etc. So maybe I can bend him into what people seem to want. Hopefully.

AO, if you are going to make morphs like that I might suggest you make them in the Dev Rig then transfer them to LH lower rez? That's w bit easier than trying to ADD them to the HR pack after the fact (if you want them for clothing) also the HR obj is very high rez so easier to sculpt on if that's how you are making them
Just a suggestion to think about

You're late - Traci has already asked me to do so I might bug you to explain me how to make the thing work correctly.

I've been playing with him extensively, and I'd kill for a scale morph for his shoulder area, to make the shoulders wider. I tried skaling the individual groups (chest, shoulders), but results are... well, let's just say he doesn't look healthy.
Also, his feet need an arch. They look like a case for a physical therapist.
I know that it's not a corrective morph, but in case another content developer reads this, I'd also kill (or at least pay good money) for a veins/muscular striations displacement map, like the one Apollo Maximus has.
Until I see Poser 12, I'm unsure whether I'll be picking-up this figure.
Regardless, I just wanted to congratulate you on the idea of a "Community Request Morph Pack". That concept ought to satisfy quite a few purchasers, lol, talk about doing your research before committing!
I doubt this idea could fail
The Creator will have to invest on the models just to start off working. there might be an issue considering that LH is already a morph. Polygons might already reached some limits on certain areas. Building morphs upon a Morph might be difficult if the Polygons shape has already changed. On the sample of V4 male Morph you can see that the limits are reached on the Nipple area. On V4 the only solution was to have good muscle morphs based on V4 base shape, these could be applied in combination to the male morph with good results. It would mean that the muscle morphs have to be built on LF and these have to work in combination with LH. Is there any Smoothed Line render of LH around to see how the Polygons are built ?

When I started adding morphs to Dusk, I lamented some enhancements to his physique that weren't available (mostly hip width and hip shaping). I took it upon myself to make some pose injections using magnets and the morph brush to get the look I wanted. Your enhancements/adjustments morphs will go a very long way in helping me diversify L'Homme's physique, especially when blended in with his other morphs. I tried not to prhase my previous comment using "fixes", but rather "enhancements" since we all have different visions of what we want L'Homme to look like.
I thnk Dusk and Dawn had community involvement to greatly expand those figures and I am absolutely delighted to see this happening for L'Homme.

@Azath: thanks for the reference! Can't make promises but I'll keep that shape in mind. Here, smoothed lines of him out of the box compared to the one in your second message:
La Femme's mesh is pretty linear because it assumes 2 levels of subdivision in render, which looks like this:
@elena_c: an arch over or under his feet?
@Retrowave: lmao let's hope
@LeeMoon: I worked with Dawn for a while. She's an excellent figure!

I wanna make these part by part, so people can choose what to use! So collarbone will be another morph, and then a chest one.

ok CHK2033 !! this would sure need a full overwork on LH to make it look right :( Not my thing as it would have to be done from scratch and ain't got time for such a large project. Good luck Ohki on this one .
She can do it, It took me all of 6 minutes to fix his chest just to see if it can be done and it can,not difficult at all with Zbrush

I'm off to my SIXTH attempt to tweak those armpits right now, after several different bugs when importing back from Zbrush...

Thanks for doing this.
I haven't bought LH yet (I will, just waiting to see if anything else appears in the RMP today), but judging from the images people have posted, and the version that comes with La Femme Pro...his lats have an oddly sharp edge, particularly from the back, or in certain poses. It just doesn't look natural to me. I would like a morph to smooth that sharp "lower corner."
If you don't know what I mean, look at M4 or Dusk from behind and compare to LH.

Okay I got a first tweak: a JCM for the arm down.
Thank you muchly Ohki,, as the armpit shape with arms down almost totally turned me off La Femme when she first came out, so a morph to fix that for L'Homme would be wonderful, as it can't really be done with any of the dials included with La Femme Pro. It made me think of Corvas' SimpleDetails fix for V4 and M4 which I always used for that specific purpose. I always hated the football player shoulders on the generation 3 and 4 characters.

@Ohki: Both, I guess, but mostly under his feet. They look flat. His feet don't really have any contours, but that is especially jarring to me.
I'm with elena_c, I don't like his feet either. Frankly, the bridge right at his toes is much too wide and he has this really odd "bunyon" on the side of his big toe. When fitting shoes to his feet, they really distort badly. Maybe a morph to reduce the width of the foot where the foot meets the toes? Call it something like "Toes in Shoes" or something?
Also, he has a small arch on the inside of his feet, but arching it just a bit more and on both sides would help, I think. Image below is left foot changed, right remains as is.
Gen 3 and 4 had to work with sphere-based rigging, if I remember correctly, so hard to do anything without weightmaps

as far as this goes, doesn't just changing his metatarsals' Xscales do the trick maybe?

No, I thought so, too, but it just doesn't do it. Not for either wish list item.
I was hoping Gabe did an HD Feet morph for him like he did for LF, but he didn't

A M4 Hair-fit morph for LHomme would be helpful, similar to what has been offered for LaFemme.
Thanks for asking!
Sadly, I'm not sure how to make those. I'll look into it, but that one I'd release as a freebie, to honor LF's one

FYI: I finally had some time to look at l'Homme. This is my freebie Muscle Me for La Femme applied to l'Homme, with the Muscle FBM set to 1 and Flex Right Bicep set to 1.
Here's a combined render of L'Homme using his included morphs and some from La Femme on the left. Right side are the same morphs but with RobZhena's Muscle Me for La Femme added and the "Muscles" morph dialed to 0.300. The Muscles morph definitely beefs up his physique, though it might not be so obvious in my render. Thank you RobZhena!
I've only been tinkering with L'Homme since this afternoon and am seeing good results by blending a bunch of morphs together. One thing that I don't think has been mentioned yet concerns his biceps. I believe the biceps flex should have the biceps bulge moved towards the shoulder and away from the elbow. It would be nice to have a control chip there, but an adjustment morph(s) to position the biceps would be quite helpful.
I'm very pleased to see all the samples shown in this thread! Whatever comes of these efforts, thank you all for contributing your time, talent, and suggestions for L'Homme.
You are all awesome!
Lee
I bought L'Homme, and there is a "lats smooth" morph that makes his lats look more natural. It makes his lats overall smaller, though, which makes him look less like Charles Atlas, more like a 98-lb. weakling. Which I don't mind too much, since I don't render a lot of bulked-up guys, but I still think a morph that smooths lower part of his lats while keeping the width of the upper part would be useful.
I am finding his shoulders somewhat difficult to pose. Maybe I just don't know how to do it yet. Here's a couple of poses from the pose pack:
Left to right, it's L'Homme, Dusk, and M4. Something about the line between neck and shoulder doesn't look right on L'Homme. Maybe there's a morph for it that I haven't found yet. The traps smooth morph doesn't fix it.
Hopefully the armpit morph will make this kind of pose look better.
Here's another pose from the pose pack:
Again, something about the line between neck and shoulder on LH doesn't look right. Maybe a morph to fill that dip in? "Traps smooth" actually makes it worse.
Everyone posting here - I'm taking notes. Thanks
Just for test, here are some posed renders (I can't find that first one! Is it from a separate pose pack?), with the armpit and collarbone morphs (armpit one is JCM and auto-activates, collarbone set to 1):
Next I'll work on his chest shape.

I've been tinkering around with L'Homme and his included morphs, scaling, and control chips.
This is what I'm using as my base version of him. For my needs, this is a great starting point to morph L'Homme into the body shapes that I want to use.
I can get a lot more range of physiques when adding a couple of La Femme's morph packs to him.
Lee
Here's another quick render of L'Homme using his base morphs with additional La Femme morphs from the La Femme Body Kit Merchant Resource and the Femme Fatale HD Morphs. These extra morphs give L'Homme extra versatility. I've dialed in a more muscular physique on this render.
I hope to see more morphs to refine his shape.

Ok so I find myself dreading right now to work on my upcoming Body Suit for LF and LH sometimes the unmedicated ADHD brain will just refuse to perform certain tasks and rigging is one of those right now.
I wanna make a merchant resource morph pack for L'Homme with the changes I've seen people request here. Please everyone give me reminders of what you all want, and new requests if you have any. Remember, this will be morphs (and scale changes) only - I will not be changing his rigging or textures. It's meant to be passed unto clothing with just a "Copy morphs from" or automatically (as far as scales go!).
So far what I remember:
-Make his armpit more realistic when his arm is up
-Raise collarbones
-Longer torso with shorter limbs
-A change to his chest area
-Bulge morph (the paid version of him comes with one, but I want another shape - that one looks a little "thin" to me)
-Maaaybe muscle? I can't promise this one, might be above my skill, I've never done stuff for men before this.
Anything else?
Also: please let's keep this civil. And if you MUST mention other figures please only do so to show me a feature/shape you'd like - I'll make sure you'll know that my eyes have rolled back into my skull if you come with "just use Genesis" or "DS can do this better" or whatever else of the sort.
