Try the Elevation shader and use its Wiggle parameter.

Thread: Carrara 8 versions of Digital Carvers Guild plug-ins | Forum: Carrara
Quote - They don't seem to like my serial# is why I asked. The enter serial# window just keeps popping back up after clicking on OK. Although, I've only tried it on 2 of them.
It will do that if the serial number doesn't check. Try cut and paste and/or double checking the digits. The zeros in the final group trip folks occasionally. If that doesn't get you going, please send an email to support at digitalcarversguild.com and we'll dig deeper.
Thanks,

Quote - Is the power pak serial# still supposed to work or do you need to purchase new serial numbers for the plugins?
As Shawn said, continue to use your existing serial number.

Quote - Are you planning any more plug-ins for Carrara in the future? or only updates to new versions for now?
I am planning new plug-ins. Shader Ops 2 is in early an beta now. Now that the C8 conversion is behind me I'll finalize the Ground Control update that was in open beta and get back to Shader Ops 2.

Thread: Opinions on Toon! Pro? | Forum: Carrara
jt411,
There were definitely some Toon! Pro issues when 7.1.1 came out (lots of errors in the render room, simply didn't work), but those should be all good with the latest Toon! Pro. Likewise the latest Toon! Pro will not work in 7.0. If the latest Toon! Pro is giving your fits in Carrara 7.1.1, please send me a test scene.
Thanks,
Eric Winemiller

jt411,
Do you have a scene and a set of steps to recreate the issue?

Oh, and about the bundle question. If you click through to the store there are several bundles available near the top of the page. If you're looking for something you don't see and you're going to buy 4 or more plug-ins, send me an email offline and I can usually work up a deal for you.

InfoCentral,
I'm still active, but admittedly not as active as in the past. There are a few new things under development, but most of what I've been working on lately have been updates to existing plug-ins.
Some of it is just a victim of my success kind of thing. The more plug-ins I release, the more plug-ins I support, the less time I have for new development. I still get some new development done, but most of the time I can devote to it now is taken up answering emails or forum questions, building sample scenes for "how do I do..." kinds of questions, etc.

Thread: Opinions on Toon! Pro? | Forum: Carrara
The GI = dark thing was a bug. It's fixed in the latest patch of Toon! Pro for 7.1.1. I still need to go back and make it work correctly in the older versions.
Having said that, unless there's something in your scene not using the Toon! Pro Cel shader, Mark is right. Straight up non-GI lighting is a lot faster to light something that has only a few levels between shadow and highlight.

Try turning Interpolation off under your Global Illumination settings. Your render time will go up, but I've seen it produce those blotchy patterns.

Thread: Looking for Anything Goos customers who also use Lightwave 9 | Forum: Carrara
Not leaving, just spreading the risk so to speak. Right now DCG's sales rise and fall with the Carrara release cycle. I'm going to see if I can smooth that out a bit by leveraging some existing code on to other platforms.
Thanks for the forum suggestion.

Thread: Big Toon! Pro update | Forum: Carrara
Hoofdcommissaris,
I just double checked the download and it seems to be working here. Can you try downloading and installing it again. The link for OSX and 6.2.1 is
www.digitalcarversguild.com/downloads/c6/toonproub.zip
Make sure you copy the ToonPro.mcx, ToonPro.dat, and ToonPro.txt files to the extensions folder. If that doesn't help, please contact me off list and we'll dig deeper.
