I'm smiling looking at your theme, Drekinn. :D
It'll be quite a treat to read something that uses the pic, but turns out totally unexpected.
I really hope I can make time to write with all the travel and pressing demands of work that have been harassing me. :(
I envy Jon and his gardening...

I've lost track again! what does one do with a job where one is constantly travelling?? Tsk!
Good to see things happening! I hope I'll get time this month to write. All the themes are really nice and it shouldn't be too hard to come up with something.
It's good to be back though. I wish I had a clone to handle all my work while I painted and wrote. :)
Bests, hanevi.

Wow, guys!
Here I am off on another teaching assignment, and here it's cold and raining and raining, and floods everywhere. Crazy land I live in. I haven't had a chance to write anything in the last few days, but it's nice to see so many excellent Haiku. :)
winter fog,
monsoon cloud and rain,
seasons meet
Not so good, but I'm rushing and wanted to stay connected.

sand, ochre stretches,
I call, words have no echo,
wilderness listens
Oh, that's lovely Marlene. There are such deep undertones, and profound parables hidden.
Hi Drekinn! I feel so guilty about the alliteration thread which I enjoyed reading so much, but can't get time to write. Tsk! what do I do with myself?

beautiful,
pecking at puddles,
rain-song, sweet
Although the Monsoon is hard on us here, it's also very beautiful. I was watching the drops fall on little pools of water. How welcome after the scorching heat! Your Haiku is lovely, with a gentle lilt. I love these ones that you write.
I'm sure the silly edge will return at an unexpected time, Marlene. 'I'll be back...' Ha!

Marlene, now I can't get a single silly one after a day's thinking. Anyway, thought I'd try a more romantic one (strange feel to it after much writing that's been usually very serious and intense). Been thinking of my wife and little daughter; thought I'd write one for my wife. :)
TP, you've got me laughing! :D Â I didn't know you could edit only for 15 mins; I'm imagining the scene and laughing again. Good to see you again in the thread.

Thank you, Dee-Marie, for the info. It's always good to be connected with the larger world outside, and connect with people whose voices are impacting culture today.
Regards,
Hanevi.

Haiku junkie here...
My God, I'm caught! I can't get the counting out of my head... I feel a silly wave coming, shall we surf it, friends?? :D

syllabic reaping
You guys are terrible...now I've caught the bug. I think the summer theme's mortally shot now.
TwoP and Marlene, you guys are funny and funny. I actually laughed reading the previous page. And the sunflower link is almost unbelievable.
Also I want to extend a big thank you to everyone who participated in this thread till now, and everyone who's viewed it. We crossed the thousand viewings mark. It's been a fantastic thread, and very enjoyable writing in it, and reading some excellent Haiku!
Just a question- how do you guys feel now about a change of theme, or shall we press in to the summer theme till summer's well and truly gone?

That was really nice David! Very nice imagery and feel, and a philosophical tilt to it as you get to the end. :)

Sorry, Marlene! I know that was a a bit too tough for enjoyment. I like yours; there's a subtle way you have with words. :)
That's a gentle one, TwoP! Very nice!
The rains are here! Now floods and disease will follow, but at least the heat's lessened. :)
