fields of Haiku ripe,
come one, come all, harvest calls,
syllabic reaping
You guys are terrible...now I've caught the bug. I think the summer theme's mortally shot now.
TwoP and Marlene, you guys are funny and funny. I actually laughed reading the previous page. And the sunflower link is almost unbelievable.
Also I want to extend a big thank you to everyone who participated in this thread till now, and everyone who's viewed it. We crossed the thousand viewings mark. It's been a fantastic thread, and very enjoyable writing in it, and reading some excellent Haiku!
Just a question- how do you guys feel now about a change of theme, or shall we press in to the summer theme till summer's well and truly gone?
Attached Link: Summer
Perhaps it is time to move on to something new, though I have enjoyed the Summer theme quite a bit. So don't go by me, I'm easy to please. Reaping what you sow. Gosh, how clichcan you get? The heat has me fried. ;^]Kort Kramer - Kramer Kreations

No winners.
These things tend to run their natural course. When folks quit posting they drift off into fond memories. I don't think you need to worry about it either way.

Note to Admins:
Since it appears one can only 'edit' or delete a post for '15' minutes(?), would someone with the authority to do so, kindly delete my FIRST feeble attempt above mentioned.
Thanks much, TallPockets
(What is the reasoning behind only being able to 'edit' for '15' minutes if I may ask)?
Nuts and summer fruit
Sweet supper on sultry nights
Heat and wine and you.
...And we see my mood still hasn't changed ...even with all the silliness, lol.
Edit: I see you replied while i was writing,T.P. Never mind the first haiku..we have all made mistakes here, and no one takes it seriously. One of my recent posts wasn't even 3-5-3!
I'm just happy to see you participating.I hope you will continue to do so.All my best to you,as well...T( silly) P... ;^)

you and I
forever dancing
in Life's Hall
Marlene, now I can't get a single silly one after a day's thinking. Anyway, thought I'd try a more romantic one (strange feel to it after much writing that's been usually very serious and intense). Been thinking of my wife and little daughter; thought I'd write one for my wife. :)
TP, you've got me laughing! :D I didn't know you could edit only for 15 mins; I'm imagining the scene and laughing again. Good to see you again in the thread.
Hall of sweet mem'ries
I walk in silent review
Life is beautiful.
Sorry you lost your 'silly' edge,Hanevi...but I am sure your wife will love it. :^)

beautiful,
pecking at puddles,
rain-song, sweet
Although the Monsoon is hard on us here, it's also very beautiful. I was watching the drops fall on little pools of water. How welcome after the scorching heat! Your Haiku is lovely, with a gentle lilt. I love these ones that you write.
I'm sure the silly edge will return at an unexpected time, Marlene. 'I'll be back...' Ha!
Sweet upon my tongue:
Neopolitan ice-cream;
Chocolate first to go.

Hey Marlene, just thought I'd jog your memory of a certain alliteration challenge thread that's been rather neglected of late. It's been almost three weeks since I last thrust down the gauntlet. :crying:
Hope you can post soon, as I'm almost tempted to begin answering my own challenges!

Thank you,Hanevi, for your kind words.I very much like yours,as well. The words flow beautifully.
LOL @ Drekinn and his 'wobbling' lip...Aw...Has it been three weeks already?Sigh, time sure flies.
I will post as soon as I can.

sand, ochre stretches,
I call, words have no echo,
wilderness listens
Oh, that's lovely Marlene. There are such deep undertones, and profound parables hidden.
Hi Drekinn! I feel so guilty about the alliteration thread which I enjoyed reading so much, but can't get time to write. Tsk! what do I do with myself?
Sun beats intensely
Pounding on winter-worn flesh
Passion awakens.
Welcome,WeeLaddie....Love your haiku...

Nice one Drekinn, conjures up scenes of summer forest fires. I'll post my "Flashes" haiku now. though I know it's redundant in the last/first word sequence. It was penned and has to be aired, or so my ego's telling me.
Flashes of sunlight
Venetian blinded smoochers
Under the boardwalk
Remember, first word in sequential train is "Burn".
Purges, Valpurgis
Summer night at the op'rah
I shouldn't have drank.
I'm sorry.I couldn't think of anything else for 'purges'...LOL. ;^/

Wow, guys!
Here I am off on another teaching assignment, and here it's cold and raining and raining, and floods everywhere. Crazy land I live in. I haven't had a chance to write anything in the last few days, but it's nice to see so many excellent Haiku. :)
winter fog,
monsoon cloud and rain,
seasons meet
Not so good, but I'm rushing and wanted to stay connected.
Meet the break of day
With opened eyes and witness
Possibility.
An almost impossible three word gauntlet....LOL.
PS-Not my best either, but wanted to 'stay tuned' as well.
Lovely haiku everyone.
