I didn't know Don Tatro....in fact, until this morning, I didn't know he had passed way. I just always thought he had made the wonderful Creepy Clown and hundreds of 3d models. I had downloaded through the B's, I believe.
I have read awesome things about him today. He was well loved by the community.
This made my cry:
http://www.renderosity.com/news.php?viewStory=6813
I posted and was so afraid the Rendo Mods would feel it was too late or I didn't know Mr. Tatro at all to post.
I didn't know artists who passed away before I was born, but that doesn't make me want to see their work!!!
Oh, my gosh!!!! While trying to get more info for you, I found your website!!!! YOU ARE hosting his models.
God Bless you, Heavenly_Spirit, for doing this!!!! I am not certain if you want this told or not.
I have not looked to see if there is a place we can thank you and his family for allowing this!!
You are doing a good thing here. From what I understand, Mr. Tatro didn't want anything in return for sharing his wonderful models. I don't know if he, also, had models for sale. If he did, and I can still purchase them, of course I would. My mom was left with very little when my dad passed away. His retirement plan had provisions in it. I have no idea if Mrs. Tatro needs financial help or not.
Well, I do see why you went to bat for this artist. I wish I could have known him through the forums!!!
If you ever had any more info, please let me know. Thank you again:)
Thread: Hair for Kit by Littlefox, please | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I have bugged everyone at RDNA before about this, but posted the same thing again in their forums this am.
There are so many wonderful hair modelers out there. I know they can do this. I hope they will just give it a try!!!
Most of the curly hair is just too long and think. I could try to make a hair prop out of one curl, I don't know...then just have 50 little curls sticking through little Kit's head. Now, that is a scarely thought!!!
These little hairs could be used on other figures, as well.
Thread: Need updated answers on going XP or Vista...32 bit or 64 bit, Please | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Quote - Poser 7? I'd say XP 64 bit - if you can get the drivers for your audio, graphics card, network card.
I put my desktop systems together myself with XP64 in mind (run XP64 on all of them), which means
- nVidia or Intel chipset (not ATI or VIA)
- nVidia graphics card (not ATI)
a GOOD brand of mainboard (MSI, not ASUS or - shudder - Asrock)Everything works fine, and Poser 7 can use up to 4 GB of address space on XP 64 bit.
You can also get Poser 7 to use more than 2 GB of address space on XP 32 bit (Pro edition, doesn't work on Home). Just add the /3G switch to boot.ini and XP Pro will allow up to 3 GB of address space per process.
Poser 6 and older will not use more than 2 GB of address space, either with or without the /3G switch in boot.ini. For Poser 6 or older switching to a 64 bit OS is no use at all.
Oh, I like what I am hearing here!!! Thank you for the info. I probably won't get to focus on it until after the holidays, however. If my other programs won't work, like PSP or my filters or whatever, I will just keep the two computers running.
I thank everyone for their answers. I think I am going with XP 64 bit!!!!

I once heard there was a way to get Poser to use more ram than the allocated 2 gigs. I believe it was at Daz forums. I might have to search and see how they did it. If I don't understand, then I can get a guy I hire when something is over my head at work regarding computers and the network.

Quote - until there's a 32-bit version of Poser, you wouldn't gain all that much with a 64-bit OS. XP has been around the block, so most of the bugs are history.
"But we learned from our mistakes!"
"Great, now we can make all new ones!" - Jurassic Park...;)
That is what I like...."....so most of the bugs are history."
I waited 2 years to get XP after it was released.

Quote - I checked with RC and that is what is going on.
This is all part of the changeover to Smith Micro.
It should be resolved as mentioned , in 24 - 48 hrs.
Guess it depends on how often your ISP updates.Yes, I agree, Advance Notice sure would have been nice.
DR........
Quote - > Quote - I just WHOIS'd contentparadise.com - owned now by Smith Micro.
Seems we are going through a simple Ownership / Server / DNS change
I have done this often - 24 - 48 hours and everthing will be ok.
Notice would have been nice thoughjan_scrapper keep your transaction number - in-case stuff get lossed in the transfer.
Good Idea!! I cannot get in yet, but you sure made me feel better about what is going on!!!
Thank you!
That does sound really good. Ok, now my ISP is AT&T. Where I moved to 4 months ago in Spring, TX, we HAD to have the new U-verse. My connection is down more than up, so if I have to wait on them to update, wow....My new dolly, Littlefox's Candy...will be grown up before I get to download her!!!!!
Ok, I bought at CP because I am tired of double buying stuff at different websites, however....the longer I cannot download my stuff, the longer I am not purchasing from that site anymore except for things only they sell.
I buy too much...call me a Poser addict...I AM one. :(

Quote - mine appears ok so far - looks like we might have some DNS poisoning going on somewhere and it hasn't hit me yet
I had to look it up because I didn't understand what you meant, but, by golly, this is a real term and it has just really upset me.
DNS cache poisoning ### From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Jump to: navigation, search
DNS cache poisoning is a technique that tricks a Domain Name Server (DNS server) into believing it has received authentic information when, in reality, it has not. Once the DNS server has been poisoned, the information is generally cached for a while, spreading the effect of the attack to the users of the server.
Normally, an Internet-connected computer uses a DNS server provided by the computer owner's Internet Service Provider, or ISP. This DNS server generally serves the ISP's own customers only and contains a small amount of DNS information cached by previous users of the server. A poisoning attack on a single ISP DNS server can affect the users serviced directly by the compromised server or indirectly by its downstream server(s) if applicable.

I was on just fine checking on what I had purchased just 10 minutes ago....Now, GoDaddy stuff is there and I cannot download my purchases.
This looks like highjacking or their new owner not getting things done...like paying website bills.....I do not know.....
However, I want to download my stuff:( !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
