Okay, on the back outlines I used two different methods. The first method is for the edges of the models. For that I used the Edge_Blend node. For the black lines in other areas, like around the Superman logo on the body suit, I cheated and created an "Inks" texture map which I then feed into the Edge_Blend node. If enough people are interested, I'll try to put together a tutorial on this.

All of this was done completely in Poser 5 with no post-work. The model is Michael 3 with the Michael 3 Ultra BodySuit, the Versa Cape for Michael, the SciFi Boots from the Genesis Rage outfit for Michael 3 and the M3 Project Z hair. I did the texture map and transparency maps for the bodysuit and boots myself.

I've been playing around with this technique and some some halfway decent results. I used Michael 3 and the M3 Ultra Bodysuit. (The boots are the Buccanner Boots which I used for the simpe reason that they were in the same folder at the bodysuit. I anyone can recommend more super-hero looking boots, I'd appreciate it.) The poke through issues are there because I didn't feel like dealing with all of them. I fixed the issue with the arms sticking through the bodysuit but I didn't notice the issues withthe legs and the boots until after rendering the animation (see above link). I put together a quick texture map for the bodysuit and used the Michael 3.0 Universal Texture Maps (High Res) for Michael. All of the texture maps were run through the Toon node. The black lines on the bodysuit are part of the texture map. And, yes, I do have the M3 Hooded Cloak and it is in the scene but made invisible. I didn't have the time to set up the texture map for it and I'm still somewhat baffled on how to get transparencies working in Poser 5. (I want to make the hood and the fastener part invisible.) The lighting for the scene leaves a lot to be desired. Pointers on how best to light a scene for this technique would be greatly appreciated. All in all, very cool technique. I would be very interested in an indepth tutorial on how to use it to make comic book style renders. I have to say that I can't stand the Poser 5 Materials Room. It is a complete pain to work with. It took forever to set up the nodes how I wanted them.Thread: Maya Anime Doll render... | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL

Will this version include the ability to convert all of the RSR files to PNGs within a directory structure? (In other words, will I be able to select the RuntimeLibrary folder and have it create all of the missing PNG files from the RSR files?)

Could a Python script be used to time how long a render takes place? If so, that would give a more accurate measurement than using a watch.

Some sort of communication device, data pad or laser gun would seem to be an logical choices for a non-conforming prop. Nice looking textures as always. I'll have to set some money aside for this when it comes out.

What about converting textures for the bodysuits? If I have a texture of the Michael 1/2 bodysuit and I want to convert it to the Victoria 3 ultra morphing bodysuit, will the UTC help me with that?

Any chance you could do a render of that same scene with the non-photorealistic render option in Carrara 3? I'm curious if Carrara 3 can do a decent comic book style render.
