Unfortunately, to the best of my knowledge there is no way to create a professional quality cartoon look directly from Poser 6: some degree of postwork is necessary. ernyoka1 provided some examples of images using different Poser 6 cartoon shading/rendering methods. Attached is a link to an image I made using a different DAZ studio method created by SnowSultan (tutorial on this website).Thread: roads | Forum: Vue

In my opinion, the skin realism effects obtainable in Poser (when combined with face_off's "Real Skin Shader") are much better than that obtainable in Vue 5.

Nice graphics. Too bad the story stank. :( And sadly enough, based on its target demographic, it's most likely to suffer significantly from P2P downloaders.

I agree with the following: with prizes this costly, some degree of vote-swaying/rigging is inevitable, especially on a board where anyone can create multiple voting accounts easily and free of charge. Why create an environment rife with politics? To avoid such, I think such competitions are better off judged by an independent panel (or individual).
By the way, where are the semi-finalist images listed?

I like the lighting on the last image, wolf359. What did you render it in? Is any postwork involved?

They look nice, but unfortunately not as good as the results from Poser6's real skin shader.

Useful information here. Thanks guys!I have a question though: what title is given to the lighting effect in the image below (I can't really describe the effect in words, but it seems that despite the fact that the light comes in through the window, many objects not directly in the path of the light still receive some indirect light from it).
Can the below effect be made in Poser6? How about in Vue/Bryce?

I bought the real skin shader (basic) and it seems to do pretty well for me: I see no reason to upgrade. This is an example of a closeup image I did with it. I don't see any glaring errors...Thread: Stopping a displacement map from exploding the original object? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I must say, Macclean's carpet image is one of the most realistic scenes I've seen coming from DAZ Studio (not just the carpet, but the floor and walls). I'm very impressed! Do you mind telling us what model you used for the room (floor, walls and blinds), MacClean?

Thanks for the responses guys! Below is an image I did with EnglishBob's free prop. Enjoy! http://www.renderosity.com/viewed.ez?galleryid=1059839Thread: How do you make Ocean Spray? | Forum: Bryce
Thanks for the response, Mahray! I really like Zhann's tutorial. draculaz, the page you referred me to (www.thewings3dsite.tk) features only Wings3d tutorials. I was looking for Bryce (or photoshop) tutorials. But thanks anyway. :)

How does one convert conforming clothes to dynamic clothes? Is there a tutorial on this somewhere? Thanks.

I prefer Number3: Number 1's hands don't seem to display much texture/bump, and the left hand looks kinda wierdly shaped. Also, in Number 1, some portions of the blood trickle don't look as though the same lighting/shadowing in the scene was applied to it. Number 2 isn't that much different from Number 3 (at first glance) but upon closer observation, I think the granite effect gives #3 more realism. Could you reduce the granite on his forehead but keep the granite on the rest of the face? Just my (subjective) opinions!
