Quote - I wonder how many scientists got eaten, trying to hear if Tigers and Jaguars purred or not.
Ever wondered how many poor sods got locked up for assault whilst they were perfecting the Heimlich Manoeuvre? What about the fireman's lift, envisaged in the Victorian era?

Does anyone have any idea where I might find a whipped cream, with strawberry sauce and chopped pistachio, texture for Posette? I'm sure I saw one in freebies once, or did I dream it?

Quote - Oh dear, you poor deluded fool. You should drink the stuff round here, it's half vodka, half Domestos and half Jeyes fluid. Three halves, you say? Why yes, that's a proper pint.
Yebbut, the other three quarters is just water.

So, I drink the occasional shandy. But only made with proper Wadworths bitter, none of your poncy northern brews.

Quote - Nope. I'm Batman and I don't need no steeking super powers. Superfluous commas in sentences is not cool. Vernacular, however, is. So nyah.
Okay then, gloves off. You call my commas superfluous? Eat shortcake you steenking northener!

As to the fight thing, do we get any superpowers?
Anything you can think of darlin :)
Watch out for the beef... I mean, shortcakes around here ;)
As a vegetarian I will be sure to avoid the beef, assuming that it's in the form of steaks and such.
My superpower will be self correcting grammar and spelling. Having criticised others in that respect, I will get a good kicking when I, inevitably, make a typo. So, when it happens, nobody is allowed to mention it, on pain of losing their own powers. Okay?

But how often do you find "I must brush my hair with the hedgehog, in order to get the conductor to let me board the bus into the past where I can prevent my neighbour from killing the Wumpus" useful?
When reading Terry Prattchet's Discworld books?
Nope. It's part of the solution to a, near 20 year old, text adventure called Humbug. Still available here: http://www.grahamcluley.com/humbug.html
Humbug was a big thing in my bit of the UK in the early '90s. I just used to lurve the ridiculous conversations it gave rise to.

Quote - "You do realise that some people here are going to have to stay late and write out some lines?"
I can't do detention at the moment, Connie's got a photo session planned for me.
Do you have a note?

Well, impeccable to someone that agrees with it...

Quote - Alot of people who's native tongue is not English will generally speak it better than we do here because we no longer speak it correctly. We become lazy with dialects & slang etc.
I am exaggerating here really.
Possessive pronoun again! "Whose native tongue" for goodness sake!

Largely agree but, possessive pronoun with an apostrophe?!?! Oh dear, oh dear.
I could write that in Croatian, without grammar and punctuation errors. Would that suit people better?
That way I can take it easy and be persnickety, and everyone else can put int the effort to learn my native language - for a change.
Sorry, it was a poor attempt at a joke. Your logic is impeccable, and your grammar is a great deal better than most people I know whose native language is English.
Just don't do the possessive pronoun with an apostrophe bit again, okay?
