A problem I have found with using "Real World Units" in Poser 5 is that if I switch from one unit type type to another (e.g. from inches to cm and back to inches) the scale reduces to 93% of whatever it was previously.
units: inches
main camera position: ztran = 20.645 (default)
ytran = 37.161 (default)
xtran = 100 (to demonstrate scale change)
Edit -> preferences
change display units to centimeters
close preferences dialog
Edit -> preferences
change display units back to inches
close preferences dialog
main camera position: ztran = 19.200
ytran = 34.560
xtran = 93.001
The only units that seem to unaffected by this are the Poser Native Units. As a result I usually use PNU's.
Thanks,
Jeff

Have you tried setting the "Collision Offset" and "Collision Depth" to lower values? The default is 1 cm. The manual says the minimum value is 0.1 cm. I have found this helps sometimes when cloth is passing between objects. They are found in the "Collide Against..." dialog.

I'm certainly not an expert but I have experimented a bit with dynamic cloth.
Is this a conversion of an existing item or a new mesh?
If you imported a new obj for the prop you may need to check the "weld identical vertices" box in the import dialog.
Check Serge Marck's site at www.poserfashion.net. He has a couple of tutorials on converting conforming clothes to dynamic and dinamic to conforming. They might give you an idea on what's going on.
Hope this helps,
Jeff

Under the properties tab for each object there is a "smooth polygons" check box. This will enable you to turn off smoothing on a per object basis as opposed to the whole scene.

The gap is controlled by the "Collision Offset". You can set this in the "Collision Objects" dialog box (the "Collide Against..." button).
Hope this helps,

I'm running Windows 2000 on an Athlon XP1800+ with 1GB RAM. Poser 5 runs fine. Poser 4 Pro Pack works fine as well.

I'm having the same problem. It is only in the firefly renderer and it is only with lights that I add. The default infinite light work fine. If I make the default infinite light spotlights the depth mapped shadows continue to work for those lights only. The depthmapped shadows continue to work in P5's P4 renderer. At least I'm not the only one seeing this. Thanks, Jeff
