I am not sure about general planes but if the plane you want is parallel to the X, Y or Z plane then you can type S, X, 0 or S, Y, 0 or S, Z, 0 to scale the points in the planes to "0" with respect to each other in the X or Y or Z directions. They become aligned on those three axes.
Another thing might be to look into to the new snapping options. I am about to download a 2.47 build to take a look at these.

Oh, I thought you wanted the image to show during rendering. If during modeling then use:

This is one tut that I learned this from:[

To make sure your image is oriented correctly this is really good link as well:

I have both Hexagon and Blender and they both "roll" when you do a free rotate such as in Hexagon's "Alt-mouse button". I think that Hexagon is a little bit smoother at rotating but still doesn't offer precise input (with that keystroke sequence anyway).
Another tip that might help: If you need to reset the camera in Blender to a horizontal view, highlight the camera, press "n" to bring up numeric entry and type 0 in the "RotY" field.

You might want to lock your view to the object in the center of the view. This video I just came across might help. Looks like a great series of tips.

Hi LL,
To Edit a mesh:
Make sure you have your mesh object highlighted by right clicking on it. If you can't see your mesh object press the "home" key for "view all". You may also be on the wrong layer - try pressing the number 1 on the top row numeric keys to see the default layer 1.
See this picture of the 3D window header and find the "View Mode" pull-down.
wiki.blender.org/index.php/Image:Manual-3D-Header.png
Then select "Edit mode" from the list. (Shortcut = TAB key)
I hope this helps. Welcome to Blender and the forum.

You are not likely to find anything that specific. You might be able to combine some Blender modeling knowledge from the many good Blender tutorials out there with the edge layout from something like this (for 3ds max)

Thread: Creating Morphs | Forum: Blender
I assume you are making morphs for Poser? So you cannot delete half the figure and use a mirror modifier as you could if you were working with "morphs" or shape keys for Blender figures.
Another tool that does mirrored editing is Hexagon. I have also heard that Hexagon 1 will be given away in an upcoming 3d World - then there will probably be a good deal on the upgrade to Hexagon 2. Hexagon's proportional edit tool is really nice as well.
But both of these tools have limitations in which vertexes are considered symmetrical. The mirroring only works on those verts which are already symmetrical. If you accidentally move just one side then after that the mirror doesn't work on the non symmetrical faces. See this thread for the discussion on the Blender limitation:
Thread: Poser script... | Forum: Blender
Hi Reddog,
You might want to check this forum post for a similar script to get Poser items into Blender: http://blenderartists.org/forum/showthread.php?t=73317
Looks like good work so far.

Reddog,
Thanks for your comments! I am just learning a little rigging - finally going to rig the Captain Blender I modeled. But I don't think I can rig and animate a rabbit just yet. Maybe he can become part of a movie if all he has to do is get a bite taken out of him...so he will probably end up chocolate in that case...

Do you have this script posted on your site? I was hoping to test it out with Hank from Blender essentials or something...but I couldn't find it.
