Thanks so much for all the replies! :) Jos--I wasn't a member of the list, but I am now! I will ask there also. Thanks... Rick--shhh...I won't tell! LOL I did have multiple layers & I unchecked all of them but the layers just turned black. I'm sure I screwed up somewhere! I don't have the parameter file here at work, so I'll have to try again tonight--maybe I had another mapping function that was goofing it up. I may be in touch with you again soon. Yvonne--yes, I did try that, but it still didn't work. I'm totally new to the program, so I'm sure it's user error, though! :) I'll try again tonight & let you know. OK--I'm another newbie & I'm still not sure I understand exactly. I really want to understand how to get the transparent backgrounds!! Sorry if I'm being dense! :) 1. I looked in the options menu--under the last tab "paths", it was already listed to hqi (so it seems): C:Program FilesApophysis 2.0hqi.exe 2. Go to file, choose export flame...then what? do I have to change the file type from .jpg to .png right there before I hit ok?? or what? what's the next step? HELP! :) Donna

I haven't done much with triangle manipulations yet (obviously), but it obviously does the trick for you...gotta learn more about that. Hi--I am new to fractals & just got apophysis (cause it's free) & there is a script I just found today that does kaleidoscopes direclty in apophysis. Works like a charm! I got it here: http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/9810447/ Don't know if that helps or not... :) Donna
