With al lthe time spent making it, packing it, doing promos and thumbnails - then REALLY lucky if you sell 20 (probably closer to 10-15 and the brokerage gets half of it)...well, you decide.

Ummm... ok. You can't know, but of course I've tried all of that - who doesn't after a while? - and I failed.  And I can still go with what I said above.

I have the utmost respect for modellers and what they do. Honestly. A lot of them do and/or would get my money. I enjoyed and benefitted from a lot of great freebies. I'm sorry not all of those can make a living with their hobby/talent/skill.

It's maybe just my personal experience, but... after a few years reaping DAZs generous offers I quit the club. Because I compared quality and prizes there with Rendo and RDNA and found that I could spend $20 on 4 items rather than just one.

And I really don't feel like I bought something worse because it was cheaper. And without a string of vouchers, coupons or special sales needed, too.

At the moment the "real" prizes are probably higher because they are sold at 50% off for a day. 

Any other day of the year they work with glamour - super looking renders and a nice discount if you join their platclub. Worked for a long time when I had a credit card to max out - now that money is tigth I shop other places, too.

The Kids 4 as the male figure don't get attention as stuff for them doesn't sell - say creators.

I think I've read somewhere that the hip is handled different in DAZ then Poser, but I can't remember where and what this was about...

Anthanasius, can you please tell us how you know that? So the next time I'm wondering about things like that I can try to guess?

I never enter from the front page so I haven't sen; I enter from the forums. I think it's good to remind us they still sell Poser stuff. :) Their PA sale this year had me wondering if it is only DS and Genesis and V5 from now on...

Sorry for bringing up an old thread, but... since the value for diffuse color is turned off is there a way to use this with the SSS wacro in PP2012/P9? I thought maybe someone of you has tried it already - I did but it looked weirdly washed out putting the tattoo into the specular node and turning on diffuse wasn't much better, but it might be me?

Mind you, if you use PP2012 those might possibly not work (yet) as there is a new Python script.

There's also a V4 bodysuit by billy-t that and a full bodystocking suit by the same vendor I keep messing up with DAZ's bodysuit. The gloves might have been from something else...

Hmm, for the bodysuit have you tried checking vendor Shana? She (I assume she's a she...) has lots of stunning promo pics that always catch my eye and she did textures for the bodysuit, I think.

Argh, please don't make BB sell his shaders. :( I'm so glad there's people who offer their skills for free, because it helps to improve all of us equally rather than some using their superior knowledge to make money in Poser communities... Of course that's fair, but I think it's nicer to learn other's ways of doing things and see what else you can do with that knowledge of, for example a shader like this.

That said, I think shaders are the best thing since sliced bread; of course I can doodle on a face texture, but then I need to do textures and bumps for sweaty faces, dirty faces, tattooed faces, tattoed + dirty faces, which are wet, and have scars... Isn't it nicer to be able to do this with shaders, and leave the original texture intact?

And when you look at BBs tattoo thread you even learn how to use textures of any nice on any part of a model's body... that means even less work outside of Poser and more time to render. :)

(Quickly saves shader settings before they're only available for money...)

The best result I got with Faceshop and Poser was a face half-morphed and half-original when used as morph in Poser.

It might work better with DAZ.

If you want to know about problems with FS and Poser, and the creators way of handling it, search for posts by Cliff Bowman. I think that can give you a good idea. But... I haven't cared about FS anymore since version 4, as I'm a Poser user and use Windows 7 and both didn't seem to get along with FS well enough to put more money into it. shrugs

Ah, thanks SteveJax. ^^ I'm just trying with the pose now. I downloaded this a while ago, and, okay, I don't think I would have thought to check the pose folder.

If you are wondering: yes, I feel stupid now. I should have thought of that... Anyway, it's almost right now, just a little pokethrough, but I'll get there.
