I run DS4.5...I have a few Genesis items but don't use them too much because everytime I do, I always get the duplicate ID message popping up. I have re-load Daz several times trying to figure out how to fix it but it's still there so I prefere using Gen 4 figures and really I am happy with the results I get with them in my work.
As for the new install manager, I'm with Bob, I spent hours loading all my content and arranging them in Daz the way I wanted them it makes it easier for me to to find what I want. I don't feel like spending hours changing that or re-loading them.
I got smart enough after loosing my hard drive last year along with everything I had installed for Daz I have my hard drives partitioned and keep my library on F drive (my second drive) and I have everything backed up on an external drive too. I am not re-loading almost 400Gbs of files....re-organizing them again....just the thought gives me a headache.

I know I don't post on here regularly. Most of the time I am just reading and learning from what is posted here, while sipping on my coffee in the morning before work, but I wanted to take a minute to say a couple of things while I have some down time.
First off, seeing what other artists here have been posting is just sheer amazing and inspiring. I do mean that, when I see the work being done here it inspires me to take my work to a higher level.
Second off, Reality is just the best program to work with. I have tinkered with numerous other programs in the past and stick with Reality because it is simple to use but produces incredible results. I had a friend on DA the other day ask me if I would share what settings I use for skin on my work. I told him....his response made me laugh...he asked me, "Is that it?" He thought it would be some complex setting. It isn't for me though, most of my settings are simple and I use all the time. That is why I like using Reality above any other program.
Thank you very much Paolo for all your hard work and efforts.

Try this one
That worked.
Lots of entries and some are pretty good, but I'll give it a try anyway.
With $5,000 dollars going to the 1st prize winner I'm willing to take a shot

Looking good so far, but here's my quick critique:
Is the armor running any sort of maps? It looks like it needs more definition, as the textures are fairly flat. Not sure if anyone else caught it, but is the shadow falling across the foot the result of something off screen? The rest of that leg has a nicely definied shadow, then ends with the jaggy.
And for my next question, how the crap does everyone keep getting those sun flares in-render?? I've tried several settings in the lens effects and haven't gotten one that crisp to date.
Good eye....I hadn't caught the jagged edges on the boot. I had the same problem and with the help of mbinz I was able to figure out it was caused by the intensity of the sunlight or light hitting the surface. I make adjustments to fix that problem but sometimes if its not too bad I just use Photoshop to blur the edge of the shadow.

I did this picture with normal maps on her outfit.
I always use the diffuse jpg. so I can get a clean, sharp texture.
I went into crazybump and adjusted the intensity 99. Got rid of the Shape recognition and the very large detail. Then I set the very fine detail to about 15. The fine detail to 50 and the medium to 50.
