question...
is Groovehouse making you use Illustrator cc (2014) as the primary program? ...and are you trying to move stuff you built (designed) in PS into Illus for output?

Thread: Re installing | Forum: Photoshop
i guess they stopped that when it all became a Creative Suite...
they don't make it easy anymore!
(well the cloud is easy-peasy but then again you don't really "have" the software)

Thread: Re installing | Forum: Photoshop
Not sure if it still works, (I do installs from the cloud...) But in the past I was just prompted for the previous versions install disk which PS would verify then continue.
Saved time and disc space... Not sure if/when they stopped that method but you could try it.

Thread: CS5 Not updating | Forum: Photoshop
i'll try and see what i can find out... (i didn't know CS5 would even run on Win8.1 ! !)
There might have been a problem with the serial not being deacitivate before installing on the new compurter.
Also i'm not sure what update you are looking for?
The message on the page (that you linked to) is the standard message you get whae you try to update beyond the last 2 versions (so going fron CS5 to CC 2014 won't happen).
are you just looking for the increamental updadte to CS5?

Thread: Brushes in the cross-hairs | Forum: Photoshop
one other thing to watch for is:
CAPSLOCK will toggle the cursor to "crosshairs" when inadvertly left on.
used to drive me crazy! the darn thing would almost disappear on some images and i'd be scrooling like a mad man trying to find the bleedin cursor!!

Thread: How to increase the number of layers shown in cs6 | Forum: Photoshop
also do you have the AUTO-SELECT option (in the top tool bar) selected for Layer? that helps me to quickly select the layer i want to work on regardless where it is in the palette.
hope this helps, let me know

Thread: Having a real problem creating an image if anyone can help it's greatly apprecia | Forum: Photoshop
i would take some of the elements of the girl (bits of flesh colour and bits of the blue) and mask them in the underlying droplets in the botton portion of the hour glass. Use the distort filter to round slightly each piece according to the drop shape and you can get a pretty good effect

Thanks
hmmmmmm,
.cr2 extension (i take it it's not a "canon raw" file you're talking about).
is it a Poser caracter file? if so maybe Poser forum can help
Thread: Photoshop file ext | Forum: Photoshop
of course this only fixes the "going-forward" files not the existing ones :(

Thread: free | Forum: Photoshop
...or do you mean PSD files??
there are PSD files in the marketplace, but like Lucie stated, Photoshop is NOT free (it's actually pretty pricey!!! i know, i've had to keep up with ther upgrades since PS5)

Thread: Question about lighting - sort of | Forum: Photoshop
Hey Bone!
can you post an "isolated" section of the artwork?
some off-the-top suggestions would be to duplicate the figure layer, play around with the blend modes, and opacity, and then place the figure above it and mask out the figure...
maybe easier to see than explain!
