Thread: What other sites are there for Poser besides Rendo, Daz, PP, and RDNA? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Do yourself a favor and find some time to visit Sixus1 Media's store:

Everything Les Garner models up is just a little bit out of the ordinary - ok, sometimes a LOT out of the ordinary. And he and Rebekah are two of the friendliest, most helpful Poser merchants around. And there's a great associated freebie site:

and a great forum site:

Thread: Advice for getting started in Poser 6 (goal: realistic Illustrations) | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
One other thing to remember: the most realistic figure, textures, and lighting in the world won't save a poor pose. It doesn't take much at all to spoil the illusion - a degree or two of bend or rotate can be enough to break the spell. Awful Soul and Danie & marforno sell some particularly elegant poses for Victoria 3. I don't use him much, so I can't really recommend a pose pack for Michael 3.

Thanks, Jim. I just finished downloading, installing and loading IV and GV. I must say I'm most pleased with my purchase, based on initial impressions. After scaling, the differences between the two are subtle, but significant. And the different morphs are nice, and should emphasize the differences. IV would have made a great SP, but then blackhearted probably never would have sculpted Irina. As it is, now I have them both. Works for me.
And don't let the anorexia comments get you down - IV looks the way almost any doctor would say we should ALL look.

Thanks for the info. Interesting table. They look different enough to my eye to be worth the dual purchase. Time will tell...
Thread: June Challenge Theme | Forum: Challenge Arena
Lost our broadband for the last couple of days, and too busy to check in at work. Congrats, dialyn. Hot Dog. I think I'll go with the "warm canine" approach and drag Spot out for this one.
Thread: In your opinion what is the best pose pack for V3? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
As Shanim (Awful Soul):
"The Pose" poses collection
"Keen on Art" Poses
Dynamics Poses 2
Danie and marforno:
DM's Pose Boutique 1
DM's Pose Boutique 2
DM's Pose Boutique 3
You can't go wrong with any of these. The poses astound and the attention to detail is amazing.

This was fun for me. Thanks to all participants for your vision. 1. tresamie - I just really like the imagery in that droplet. 2. dialyn - the tunnel vision / looking through a hole thing makes the mood. 3. hauksdottir - so brilliantly clear that I find I have to lok away. Very nice.

A very literal interpretation of the theme, probably influenced by Father's Day.Thread: May Challenge Theme | Forum: Challenge Arena
Just logging in briefly from work. A wicked storm knocked out our electricity for the past 24 hours and counting. This was a good close vote. Hats off to all the participants - this was fun. I will post the June challenge this evening if the utility company gets things done today as promised. Hopefully it's something new...

As I see it, rocks are very simple creatures - just beneath reptiles on the evolutionary ladder. So they should show emotions consistent with this fact. Also, rocks possess an elegance and a profound nobility, so the emotion should be deep and serious. I chose "Determination". What could be more noble than dragging oneself out of the ocean in an attempt to evolve into a creature of the land? Sends chills up my spine...Six Meteors Boulders or Rocks (free) from 3dtrue. Terraformers Cliff and Water from PoserPros. Some pokin' around in the material room by me.
Thread: Giving Credit where credit is due? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I'm gonna have to come down on the minority side of this issue. I try to credit the source of just about everything I use in my renders. I sometimes miss an item or just can't find/remember it, but I try. Poser content isn't like a set of box end wrenches, people. Someone else made this stuff and it plays a huge role in your render. If you don't like something, you shouldn't use it. Passing other people's work off as your own is why the "purists" out there dismiss Poser art as trivia. I have a runtime full of stuff that just amazes me. If I could make it, I would. I can't, but I try to use it in my renders and add some value. If you do make something yourself, by all means take credit for it. It simply enhances the magnitude of your accomplishment. On the other hand, I don't write reviews for Poser merchandise (well, amost never). Go figure.
Thread: Curious labs admit bugs in poser6- | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Speaking as a happy Mac user, Poser 6 is performing remarkably well for me. This is a very ambitious update to Poser by all accounts, and it has yet to crash on me once. No graphical glitches, no missing resource dialog boxes, nothing. The OpenGL stuff works great - perhaps easier on a Mac because there are so few driver/hardware options to cause problems.
At this point: job well done CL! Thanks.
