Hyperthreading is good for single CPU PCs as you get system resources back for doing secondary work when a render or other CPU intensive operation is happening. Vue 5 Infinite is the only Vue version that can handle more than 2 CPUs. If you have a dual and include Hyperthreading you will in effect have 4 CPUs. This is no good for Vue 5 Esprit or Vue 5 Studio.

If you create an image and it takes you 5 minutes or 5 days, then post. If you are the best artist or not, and you want to post, then post. If you are happy to show others your images, post. If you want criticism then ask for it. I have seen too many potential great artist scared away by criticism (artists are often very fragile). MOST OF ALL ... I have seen many people become great artists as they grow and florish by the "Excellents" that they get in these galleries. Lets not scare anyone away.

Always an interesting subject. Another thing that also changes the ranking/comment ratio is the 'Add to Favourites'. If you do add an artist to your favourites, you get an email everytime they post a new image. Recieve the email, click the hyperlink, skip the entire gallery, view their image, comment and leave. You end up getting many comment from other people in other galleries that don't look through your gallery category anymore. If the artist has also won a competition or has some other noteriety, they will get many hits and often many 'Add to Favourites' to immortalise them as a high ranker. I also agree that this is also a give and take society. The more you give (comment on other works, participate in the forums), the more you get back. I definately agree with cretiting the modellers whose work you also include in your images.

Light is the effect that produces the underwater look. Two main ways that can be used independantly or together. Volumetric spotlight and a Gel. I usually use the Spots Gel or the Caustics Gel in the Light Gels Material Group. Make sure your light is below to water line to get more control.

The new eco-system functionality is awesome. Instant forests, crowds, herds, citys and suburbs... all in the same image... all interlaced. It's a huge breakthrough. Billion polygon renders that are memory friendly and fast to render. Yes, uses multi-processors (more than 2).

You might want to try reseting preferences (in file/options). Take a note/screenshot of them before you do this and you may be able to pinpoint the problem.
