Thread: Weird happenings in the gallery | Forum: Community Center
Well it's certainly changed...lol. Now it takes me out to the thumbnails then straight back to the image I was viewing. It's highly amusing me though, but I'd be interested in what is causing this phenomenon... For example, I just viewed the normal galleries, clicked on a pic and had a look. Then I clicked on back to thumbnails and it went back to the gallery thumbnails before sending me straight back to the image I'd just viewed and I hadn't even clicked anything except the back to the thumbnails link at the top of the page. Just weird!!
Thread: Why can't I search the galleries anymore? | Forum: Community Center
Lilybelles I too was getting the same "Timeout" errors and had to click twice to get anywhere. After a couple of days of this also beginning to happen on other sites I did a Virus Scan and found a Java virus that was playing havoc with my browser. I use Mozilla Firefox v.1.5, a very reliable browser so I knew that it had to be something serious. Don't know if this will help in your case but I guess it's worth a try. Hope you figure it out soon. I know how frustrating this can be. Helen.

Just my two cents.. having a son (now 22) who has played these types of games most of his teenage years. He is now happily married and has a very close relationship with his in laws who think that even though they don't like the games (some of them) that he STILL plays even now, they cannot fault that he is a kind, caring and very thoughtful individual especially when it comes to the wellbeing of their daughter. He has been with her for five years and happily married for nearly one. He was told by me from the very beginning that these games were not reality and he had to be made aware of the difference. He KNEW the difference and I always believed in showing him the right way by example..not the adage that I hear so much these days which is that some parents tell their children "Do as I say, not as I do", abrogating all responsibility for their childrens actions. I mean how hard is it to show that you, as a parent, also know the difference between reality and fantasy? I agree that it comes down to basically being the parents concern to show their children the correct way to behave...I did and I could not be more proud of my boy who has grown into a very fine young man...
Steps off soapbox :o)
I am sorry if my comment has offended anyone, it is just my beliefs from my own experience.

Thank you to everyone for your help. I didn't realise that the MarketPlace used a separate cookie. I thought that once you signed in on the main page (and thanks Debbie, my computer is set to accept cookies :o) as it had me as logged in on the main page) you were basically logged in to the rest of the site. Well, you learn something new every day :oD.. thanks guys, it was most helpful. Problem now solved! Helen.

Thread: The New Market Place | Forum: Community Center
I'm happier too with the speed of the site now but I have just one question about the Marketplace..if we are logged in on the Main Page, why do we have to log in again when visiting the Marketplace? I'm just a bit confused about this or was it always that way. (I'm also not terribly observant sometimes either). Having cable internet is a breeze on other sites and now I'm a happy camper with 'Rosity being able to keep up with my cable internet so I just wanted to say thank you to the Admins for their effort, even if some of us (me included)weren't too patient. :o)

Thread: Site Navigation | Forum: Community Center
That's a very good point BDC and I had considered it but I have no difficulty navigating through any of the other sites I visit, including very graphic intensive ones. Most sites load within seconds for me, I have probably about 3 people in my street with cable internet but I'm not sure how many in my neighbourhood. It's never been slow on other sites and I've had cable for about a year now. My computer is only about 18months old, 3.0ghz processor, 512mb DDR Ram so that lets that out too. Sure I'm a bit frustrated but when you consider how many people actually log on to 'Rosity each day, I'm surprised it hasn't collapsed under the weight. I shall continue to think positively and hope all will be well soon.

I have cable internet and several times in the past two weeks (I've been on holiday from work) I've tried browsing the galleries then tried clicking on member options and trying to get to my gallery. It just hangs. I can't seem to get to anything related to Member Options but the MarketPlace has no issues which I thought rather strange. Then sometimes I get a "MYSQL Server has gone away" response and it logs me out.
Maybe MYSQL server has gone away because it can't handle the slowness either? :oD so coolcatcom it's not just you.
I'm sure there is a reason for this... it would just be nice not to be a mushroom sometimes ;o) and I'm probably being overly optimistic here, but I'm sure it will be sorted out eventually.

Have you tried clicking on the Archive of the forum you're interested in. That way you can list days, months and the year you want to view and voila!.. I tried this a couple of days ago and it worked fine. Usually you can find the "Archive" link at the top or bottom of the page in the forum. Hope this helps.

Thank you so much Agent Smith. Linda Bergkvist's tutorial is an amazingly easy and very helpful tutorial (even simple enough for me)... I appreciate you taking the time to answer. I think I'm going to really enjoy getting the most out of my Wacom now. :o)
