Sorry, reading my comment back, I do sound flippant. Such was not my intent and I apologize. It's just that I thought a shader was something you used to give an object texture and the way Robynsveil used the term, it is more like a tutorial. The link she provided took me to a discussion way, way over my head. If I knew enough to follow that discussion I probably would never have had to ask the question in the first place, that was where my remark about English came in. When I asked, I was looking for an answer like Basicwiz gave (step 1, Step 2...), not how it works in theory. Again, very, very sorry. I stand corrected and humiliated.

Not quite sure what you mean by this. I've just purchased the V4 plug-in from your site, is that's what you're referring to? There is a "weight mapped" check box. Â

I glanced at the tutorial link you provided. That should serve me just fine. I should have looked around your site instead of relying on the manual.
Thanks!

When your realize you've made a bad decision it's best to admit it and just walk away from it. Unfortunately, in the corporate world, that seldom happens.
I remember a billion years ago when Poser (Curious Labs) made the software and Daz made the content and it seemed from my outside perspective to be symbiotic. Then Daz, in an attempt to capture all the market, cut the cord and came out with DS3, which they gave away for free. Problem is, they didn't capture the market and now they were stuck with software they had to develop and support that generated no income and Poser ended up as a stepchild product in a much bigger company. Now, again, DAZ is reprising that role on an even bigger scale.
Worse, this infighting and tactics to undermine one another (Geniesis not compatible with Poser) only created frustration for the customers and summoned into the fray a lot of very intelligent people capable of working around DAZ's marketing ploys (weight-mapped V4) and giving it away for free!
If only the honchos at DAZ could admit they made a mistake and decide to work with Poser instead of against it, it would be good for all parties involved.

Markschum, I went to the material room and changed V4's brow to invisible to see if thathlps. Am rendering now to see the results.

Sorry, I did not explain my actions very well. I did not merge the two runtimes - nothing was overwritten, just moved the p8 folder from its original location in the Prgram FIles (86) into the 2012 Smithmicro folder in Program Files, not into 2012 itself. Then I added the P8 runtime in the 2012 library as Bill described.

WillyB53, again I don't understand - are you saying leave them where they are - in the original P8 folder? If so, unfortunately, that ship has sailed. Can I just drag them back?

nobodyinparticular, are you sure? I did not have that problem pre p2012. It might make sense having a problem saving stuff from Program Files to Programs Files (86), but I cannot save even to the runtime that came with P2012 which is in the same directory. I could find nothing in the documentation about putting runtime files in the document directory.
