Thread: Please help me re-sample my textures folder | Forum: Photoshop
Yeah, sorry I couldn't be of more use. From my search of the web it seems in order to do stuff like this now you need to know scripting and have to have CS3. Again Sorry.

Well I just fired up my computer with CS2 on it and ran through every possible way I could figure out, but it doesn't look like you can batch process an action from Image Ready and Image Ready actions won't transfer over to Photoshop. I can't even get Bridge to see the actions from Image Ready. The only thing that I can suggest is to make a droplet and use that. It defeats the purpose of batch processing and puts you back in almost the same spot you started:(
Sorry.

Are you in Image Ready? Photoshop doesn't have the conditional option. In Image Ready the insert step button is at the botoom of the action palette.

Momodot,
since you have CS2 you can make an action in Image Ready. Make two resize steps, one for height and one for width. Your third step will be to save optimized as. After you have recorded these three steps, stop recording.
At the bottom of the action palette click on the insert step button and choose insert conditional. In the pop up menu select image width is greater than and enter in the width you made the resize width step for. For perform the following action choose include and refer to the step number for resizing the width and click OK. Repeat this step for the height. After those two steps are inserted drag them above their respective resize steps.
This will then check the width and if it is bigger than the size you specified it will perform the width resize, then it will check the height and do the same. Just remember to put the height conditional step right above the height resize step and the same for the width.
All this is in the Photoshop Speed Clinic book that I have. hope this helps.
P.S. If anybody knows how to do this in CS3, could you please post it:)

Thread: The Legacy Box | Forum: Photoshop
I believe that when you check the Legacy box it lets what ever the filter, adjustment or what have you act like it did in CS2. I found this out while following a tutorial written for CS2 while in CS3. It was driving me crazy that I couldn't do what they where telling me to do, until I checked the Legacy box. hope this helps.

Thread: Slightly OT ... an Illustrator/Wacom question | Forum: Photoshop
Hey Gini,
I just tried it. if I'm using the shape tool I have to ctrl click in an open area in order to deselect the current shape. If I click in a different area without holding ctrl it starts to draw a new shape with the same settings. If I change the color the current shape changes to match the new color. I don't think this is a bug, I think you have to click in an empty area with the selection tool in order to deselect what ever the current object selected is and holding down the control key turns the pointer into the selection tool. BTW the same thing happens when I use my "normal" mouse. I'm using an Intuos 3 tablet.

Viper,
If I remember correctly, there won't be a transparent background, but there will be an alpha in your channels that would allow you to make a selection and copy it to a new layer. After that you can turn off or delete the original layer.

Dreamer101 I had no idea it wasn’t common practice to install all your fonts at once. But I do now. BTW which font manager do you use?
Thread: Photoshop CS2 Lagging | Forum: Photoshop
Well did some more research with the right combo of words and found some indications that a lot of people were having the same problems. More than less have found it to be with the number of fonts installed on their systems. I was so hooked on it being an application conflict that I didn't even remember that I did not to long ago install a bunch of fonts (2200).
I'm tired and bummed out for now, so tomorrow I'll try that and see what happens. If the fonts are the issue I might have to upgrade to CS3, seeing how that was how most of them cleared their problems and at work we have CS3 and I have over 3500 fonts on my workstation and no problem. We'll see.
Oh yeah Chris1972, i turned down the number of redos too, it didn't help. I also played with different memory and cache size, all to no avail:(

Dhama,
It happens all the time. Since my last post I have done even more re-installs. Defragging didn't help and the file csrss.exe was running taking up most of the cpu. According to my research it means my profile got corrupted. I have been installing one program at a time and think I might have found a possible cause. I have to re-install just to make sure. I'll post my results here as soon as I have confirmation.
Thread: A quick dimension question | Forum: Photoshop
Hey Not,
The resolutions setting would be used for printing purposes. If you are planning on printing your picture after you finish working on it you would want that to be at least 300 Dpi. If you are only using the picture for display on the web(monitor) 72 Dpi is just fine. As far as I can remember monitors only show 72 Dpi anyway. Hope this helps.
