is poser installed as a 32 bit application ? it should auto install to the program 32 bit files, and it certainly sounds like driver problem,..how many processors are you assigning? check task mgr and make certain that poser is assigned both processors.
mine runs like a dream. sorry to hear. lots of drivers and stuff at planet 64..you might have to install and re install several times...i use a dual boot. good luck.
Thread: Comic Creation with Poser | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
i do a lot of comic pages as well, and i have several comic creator type softwares, but i really like working with photoshop. i am constantly amazed at the number of tutorials and amount of support available to creators. this is fun.

i run xp64 on my rendering machine as part of a dual-boot configuration. it works great, a bit of a challenge but well worth it. also, a word to the wise, spend a few bucks and install it on a large separate hard drive. i also installed 4 gigs of dual channel memory and poser seven runs like a dream.. follow the links from 'planet 64' for instructions on a multi boot installation. carrara plays very well in this environment as well.

i am running p7 on a 64x2 4800 with xp 64 and it is very fast and has not choked on
images that are huge. it uses 100% of the dual core processors...this should be opening doors for more complex renders all around.
Thread: Poser 7 versus Poser 6 render quality and speed comparison | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
i'm running p7 on a 64x2 4800, 64 bit windows pro, 4 gigs of memory and it is using all
of the cpu power and blazing thru renders that were much slower in p-6. i really appreciate what a smooth transition this upgrade is...yesterday i was working on renders in p6, today i am faster using p-7. and of course it looks like there's a lot more to learn and that's the fun part...
Thread: DOWNLOADING POSER7... | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
i guess that i was lucky. i preordered poser 07 on the 14th soon after it was announced and got my downloads early this afternoon. and yeah, a huge download! i use ie6, it crapped out on me once, i turned off my virus and extra programs and the rest went well...almost 1.7 gigs on the program and i think much less on the content....
i thought i would be at the lower end of the list, but it worked fine. i recieved an email with my download urls and the extra coupons...
i'm probably not going to install right away...real life takes priority.
i have time warner cable and it still took almost two hours to download it all.

Thread: Poser and dual core - OS change also needed | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
i recently upgraded one of my computers to amd 64x2 4800, 4 gigs of ram and installed the windows xp64 pro operating system. i have never had poser render so fast and it certainly handles complex scenes well. i have kept as little as possible on this system...when i check in with task manager it shows lots of great memory use and is fast! i also used the 'hack' that is shown elsewhere in the forums. upgrading to the 64 os was really a challenge, and i'm still discovering drivers and other tools, but the whole process seems smoother than on my other machines. the prices on 939 processors are very good right now, and although my system is'dated' from the onset, i feel comfortable with it. the vista os looks like it has a lot of bells and whistles that are bound to grabbing valuable resources, so the gains in ddr2 might end up being a wash.

this all sounds amazing, i have an amd dual core processor, any ideas on how that might
affect this hack ?

I have a very similar machine and I had a few buggy days with it, but within a week
I installed a graphics card, and it has been running smooth and fast. good luck.
