Try converting the action to a text file. Print it out & study it. When you understand the action, it should be easy to re-record it in version 5. Maybe?

Thanks. There was one comment on a submission of mine that didn't seem to generate an email notice. So I was just wondering. It could have been anything...? It's not that my pics garner that many comments, so every one of them is appreciated. :->

Yes... I can almost see how I'm going to use this technique as soon as I learn it. Please send me the tutorial. TIA Vince
Thread: May Challange Voting Time | Forum: Bryce
Everyone's work was entertaining, but I vote for Apache2k. It's seems to be the most imaginative, although the execution of color & texture might have benefited from a little more work. But then... what do I know. :-0 Vince
Thread: Help! 72 DPI to 300 DPI? | Forum: Photoshop
There are many solutions floating around out there for this problem. However, each solution has serious drawbacks. Increasing resolution will always result in a degradation of the image. One solution is a software program called "Genuine Fractals", but this program seems to work best with files that start out at 10MB or higher. Another solution I heard of is to increase resolution using PS in 1% increments until the desired resolution is reached. Another solution: Join the 'Photoshop Discussion List' where you can always get an answer to the most technical of questions. How about a spaceship... or only 1/2 of a spaceship emerging from the haze towards the viewer? Call it "Blue Nebula Probe"? Vince
Thread: My 1st BRYCE | Forum: Bryce
The scorpian.cob I got somewhere on the Web... somewhere. I'll Email it to anyone who wants it. It IS pretty neat, but it doesn't have a stinger. I made a quick brush stroke in PhotoShop to add it. (Everyday is a 'learning day'.) Vince

Duckie Wuckie made me smile also. Perhaps I take myself & my hobby too seriously sometimes? Thanks Vince
Thread: lightning plugin | Forum: Photoshop
This site has PS tutorials that will help you create lightening. http://members.home.com/ps-tutorials/ This site has begun to compile a list of ALL PS tutorials on the Web. Vince

That's a great image... as you must know. :-) For PS, the lighting effects are great! The only thing that distracts me is the object at the bottom of the image. Is it a threshold... a step? What? However, whatever it is, it is a nice break in the rhythm of the picture. Everything else is wonderful. Using blending modes to place the water over the floorboards worked very well. How did you get those walls? Create a simple lattice template (airbrush & gradients?) and then distort it over & over again on different layers? Vince
Thread: COMING SOON! FastTraxx Bone4 Metal | Forum: Bryce
Thanks for the upload. I'll use it today. BTW I just wanted to say how glad I am that I discovered 'Renderosity'! I'm an old hand at PhotoShop, but a complete novice with 3D. I have begun wading through "Real World Bryce 4" by Kitchens & Gavenda and am amazed at how difficult it is to grasp this 'Bryce World' stuff. It's nice to know there's a place to drop by, lurk, and ask the occasional 'dumb' question. My only temptation will be to spice up a BRYCE pic in PhotoShop too much because that will be the easiest for me. Also... your Forum & Email response system is nifty! Also again... If I post a pic for comment, what size or limits do you perfer? I can do anything in PhotoShop. Vince

Newbie question: Can someone briefly tell how to used this .jpg as a material? Or is the material file being posted somewhere else? TIA Vince
Thread: Dream (image post) | Forum: Bryce
Yeah... you can keep both oars & sails in the picture. They used both at the same time. The only problem is that the sail should be luffing more (i.e. wrinkled & flattened) because they would be rowing only if the wind had fallen. BTW very nice image. Vince (an old tar)
