Quote - A quick second OT here, but where's all my gamers? Just installed and started playing Guild Wars 2 (another addiction to keep me from my Daz addiction). I have no idea how to add friends yet, but if anyone here is playing I'm looking for people to play with so send me a message.
If its a Game that is not a FTP game I don't play it. not any more... can't afford to buy a gaame only to have to pay 14 bux a month for it.

Quote - I think Lux and geo grafting are having issues
you sure its not the export process.. if I export the figure as an OBJ and reimport into Daz then send to reality all is fine as the OBJ is exported with everything welded..
Thread: Reality Render thread. A new beginning. | Forum: DAZ|Studio
Anyone notice the when using a geo-grafted item such as an extra lim that they are not welded when Reality Exports it?

Quote - I found that if I set the OpenCL Workgroup Size to 64, those errors go away for me (the setting is right next to where you check the box for GPU Acceleration)
Good to know...
So IM starting over in 1.0 now.. all is lost is a few hours.

How much longer should I let it go?
Well, as Bob said you should switch to 1.0, unless you are using Reality 1.x Lux 0.8 is not supported by Reality 2 so you might encounter a series of problems, especially with metals. If you still use Reality then stay with 0.8 but I would suggest an upgrade as soon as you can.
Regarding the amount of rendering, I would let it go until it reaches at leas 2500 samples.
Cheers.
Im using 2.5 and did not get any errors on the supposive 0.8 version O_o. only when I had GPU selected.
I aparantly downloaded the wrong file last week when trying to get the latest version :P (DOH!)
Always good to hear from you!

Quote - let it run :) until you are dissatisfied with .8 :) Shame to throw away 1.5Kspp+ of work
your quality won't change going to version 1.0RC4, just gain some speed and some fixes and a couple new options I think. Should be ok finishing with .8
Maybe as an exercise, run it again with 1.0 to compare your speed?
its slower in 1.0

Quote - Did you install in the same folder as the old version? perhaps the new EXE didn't get written? or maybe one of the DLLs ...
Maybe try a clean install of 1.0RC4? (after this one is done rendering No need to fix it if it's working to your satisfaction with .8)
Ugh.. so I reinstalled 1.0rc4. and now its pointing to version 1.0... should I start all over in the new version or continue the render in 1.0??? WHAAAAAAHHH!

This may sound like a cheeky answer, but...till it's ready
At 1.5 kspp you are past what I usually render to, but with the reflective surface you may need quite a bit more. Only you can decide when it is "finished" .
Also, I didn't notice but as Bobvan pointed out you are using a kinda old version of Luxrender. Version 1.0RC4 is out on the luxrender download page now
Nice render overall, I like bots.
thats what I downloaded and I am pointing reality to the folder but 0.8 still shows up
