I will check those resources out. Thanks for responding, dialyn. It's nice to know there are others who share this frustration. Judging by the V3 stuff posted in the gallery, the available clothing options for V3 shouldn't come as a surprise. After all, demand drives the market, and V3 is apparently a fantasy outlet for a lot of hetero males. (I'm not saying this to be inflammatory--some of my best friends are...oh, never mind!)
Thread: Gallery question | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I like the suggestion that the submissions to the Poser gallery be images that only make use of Poser. This makes the newcomer aware of what can be done strictly in Poser. It becomes overwhelming when you see a great piece, and don't know how much of it's greatness comes out of Poser. Overwhelming because as a newcomer you wonder "Wow--does this mean I'm going to have to learn all this OTHER software as well in order to make as great an image as this one??" Still, I'm grateful for all the Poser gallery posters who ignore the suggestion.

Hmm...interesting that you suggest setting reflect and highlight to "black." That white box is actually intended to be, in the final image, a mirror. It seems from other postings in the forum that my best best in getting a reflection is to do it through postwork, so maybe, for the sake of the anti-aliasing, I simply should follow your advice. I suppose I can always take care of the jaggys in postwork as well, but it's annoying that they exist. raz, I'm on a Mac, with Poser 4. Is your suggestion still applicable?

Forgot to mention--I'm trying to do this in P4. However, if all else fails I can use a friend's PC and his P5. Are there any tutorials on creating the effect I'm looking for in P5?
Thread: Calling all experienced texture makers... | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Thanks for your explanations, Kate and Dave. I can't wait to get home and test this new information! One final question--when I export the .obj initially, I have some options for the .obj export in Poser 4. Is there a preferred choice for those options with this specific application in mind?

Sharen and Valandar, I export the clothing as an .obj file just for the sake of opening that file in uvmapper and creating the texture map. That texture map then relates back to the original clothing prop in Poser, not the .obj file. So I don't understand why the model needs to be saved?

I don't know about that. I'll take a rugged individualist over a "go with the flock" kinda' guy any day of the year.

Oh yes, that point about the rollowever thing was duly noted. One can only speculate on its meaning--I could see myself being forced to participate in a similar "group gimmick" and steadfastly refraining.

My money's on Steve Kondris and Josh Darling, the latter of whose name is an omnomotapaeia (spelling?) I hope the fact that so many of them graduated from Brigham Young only suggests that they are excessively clean-living.

Problem solved! Thanks for your help, Marianne and Mateo. I edited the .hr2 file and now I have the hair! D.
