Hmm, you guys have some really good suggestions, but I'm shocked there's not one link to any of them, how's anyone supposed to even know what you're talking about if they don't have a link to 1) learn about it and what it does, 2) download it if it's free, and/or 3) decide to buy it if it's a pay product? lol. Even I have no clue where to begin.

Quote - It's quietly noted in that long thread on MD2 in the Commons forum over at DAZ. Fairly early on - second page or so. But especially, see the third post in this thread on the MD forum:
Hope I'm allowed to post that here....
Now I'm remembering I seen that thread before, didn't know it had anything to do with dynamic clothes, I'll have to go look in sometime later.
I'm a bit confused about marvelous's plan to give "animation" support in DS... ? Like we need yet another animation tool lol, we have two already hehe. But really, what's "animation" have to do with creating dynamic clothes? I guess I'm saying I don't understand the term right.
Quote - > Quote - Which is exactly why I said that Daz made a mistake dealing with them in the first place (though they themselves didn't know probably) ...
I'm sure they knew, I think they just expected that the arrangement would make them a lot of money - but it turns out that the Optitex people are extreeeeeeemely slow in producing content, and also DAZ has dozens of imaginative designers that loyally broker through them that are entirely cut out.
And they don't even set the material zones right, very sloppy work, even setting opacity to 88% by default LOL, and we weren't getting very good textures at all till texture vendors teamed up with them. Don't know how their settings are though, haven't been able to afford anything at all, and most stuff coming out are for M4 which I have absolutely no interest in.

I'm not understanding the question either, but if you're talking about post work, I use Paint Shop Pro, that is, if I do any post work. Most of my renders don't need it done.

Quote - wolfie, note that Marvelous Designer/Clo3D is talking to DAZ regarding having their own dynamic plugin in DS4.
Really? Thanks, B3D :) I had no idea, maybe I didn't find any threads about that, surprisingly. With news like this, I would think it would be all over Commons. And because of OptiTex's year & 1/2 long empty promise, I'm suspicious that Daz further their search and found these guys. I hope they cut OptiTex out for such a lame deal they put us through for their profits.
Quote - > Quote - No, DS does not have a "clothes dynamic" room or tab or anything, all we have are empty promises and premade dynamic clothes by OptiTex.
The engine to run the cloth sim is there in D|S, but what they won't give you is an open format for models to be used with dynamics. It's an arbitrary business decision to make it impossible for anyone but Optitex to provide models. Smart for Optitex I suppose, terrible for everyone else, even for DAZ, since it greatly limits the variety and amount of models they'll be able to broker and profit on. Essentially they tied a hose clamp on their profit line.
Which is exactly why I said that Daz made a mistake dealing with them in the first place (though they themselves didn't know probably) 'cause I was, and am still highly suspicious of this action from OptiTex. Also, Daz's original plan, as far as I believe, was to supply us with a dynamic clothes creator (room in Poser language) and to allow vendors to create/sell some through them.

Mesh difference? I'm not knowlegeable when it comes to mesh, rig, etc.. lol, so I'm curious. I'm not even sure if "rig" is just a slang for mesh or whatever it is you guys do to make clothes.

Yea lol, that's totally understandable. The program you're using most likely didn't have Poser in mind when it was built.
No, DS does not have a "clothes dynamic" room or tab or anything, all we have are empty promises and premade dynamic clothes by OptiTex. Well, at least Daz did do something about getting "some" dynamic clothes available for us after us being jealous of Poser for so long lol.
Thanks anyways, William :)

I really like how that shirt came out! Wish you can make it conforming so I can use it in DS lol.

Morphing clothes works like a charm, and works for any figure, and you don't have to buy new or other licences for each figures. Never had any problem with this one and it's the best thing I've ever purchased. Copy/paste url above (sorry, don't know how to make a link in this new Rendo forum script).

lol I see... well, I only view friends images (good high quality realistic everyday stuff and non of the fetish/rape/monster/porn garbage). When I've browsed 3D catagory a few times, yea, I cringed at all kinds of garbage & low quality MONSTER boob & muscle crap lol, makes me sick.

Quote - Lighting and rendering are the most important factors, assuming your models have reasonably qualit MATs and shaders.
I'd back the advice to leave GC on and lower the light settings.
Choose either IDL or AO. You don't need both. IDL mimics real lighting better; AO has a distinctive look many people like. Your call.
Always favour raytracing with raytraced shadows over depth-mapped shadows. Use the shadow blur radius to soften the edges of shadows.
Use manual rendering settings, rather than the automatic slider. It's more efficient.
Pixel Samples: 3 for a preview, 5 for a final image without depth of field, 10 for a final image with DoF. This has a major effect on the 'crispness' of your images.
Min Shading Rate: Lower than 0.2 is overkill for most textures.
Raytrace bounces: 2 for simple reflections, higher for special cases (multiple mirror bounces, refracton etc).
Depending on your scene and its complexity you can lower pixel samples, turn displacement and smoothing on or off.
If your mdels are still looking pale (rather than blown out by overlighting), it's probably easier to postwork the colour levels.
Hey, thanks for the render settings suggestions! I don't use Poser for rendering, but next time I need to do promo images for future products, I'll know the better settings. Some things I know in fact (from using DS all the time, such as raytraced lights & raytrace bounces), but most of the things I was sorta blindly setting, doing the "hit and miss" till they looked good in my last promos.

Thread: Some clothes wont load, not the bug | Forum: DAZ|Studio
Oh, ok. Pretty simple. "Mat" is material that you apply to the clothing, which changes the texture or colors of the clothes.
Go to "Figures" in your runtime, you should find a folder called "Scrumptious", there you will find the clothes to load.
Be sure and have V4 selected and then double click the clothes item, then it will load and conform (be on) to her.

Might be something to do with whatever version you have (don't know your "latest"), but I just tested it myself, in using 3.1.2.19, they load just fine.

Content Advisory! This message contains profanity
Quote - but then you have aggressively shitty and pervy Poser stuff there too.
:O Me specifically? Or are you saying "there are" meaning not me specifically? If that's what you meant, I agree there are a lot of majorly shitty Poser stuff there.

Thread: How To Make Portraits Crisper | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Well, I only have experience in Poser 6, but in my learning experience (not too recently) was loading some lights and thinking, "this stuff suck bad, why did I buy it?". Well, looking at each light settings, I noticed some have raytraced shadows, which in my opinion should be casting shadows, but it wasn't. So I looked at settings and realized maybe if I set raytraced on, then it'll look better. Clicked it on, waited the render out (it got very slow) and it looked a heck of a lot better (and thus I finally got to finish my "Poser" promos on my character coming soon).
In Daz Studio, if you use raytraced shadows, you get more crispy clear images, rather then "smeared charcol" looks that deep shadow map gives.
Long story short, do you have your settings high?
