Thread: Problem with FireFly writing AVI-Files | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
who3d-I have a question about that (resuming a render). Seeing as how you can choose what frames to render in time (and not, say frames 1-10, or 7-15, etc.), say I choose to render from 0 to 1 second. Then the next day I render from 1 second to 2 seconds. Will it write the correct frame numbers in the files? Or start over again at frame 1?

Or just set maximum texture size to a lower amount. I'm not sure if that will help, but it's worth a shot. An image I posted here called 'The Beast Awaits' had about the same footprint. Actually, almost to a T as what you're saying yours was. Maybe I was just lucky that it finished.
Thread: What difference reflection maps make (quick-tut) | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Nice post _dodger. I read your other quick-tut about this where you just explained everything. Doing it this way really shows how different things can look. Personally, I like the 'dungeon' reflection map that you've used in a ton of your images. Seems like that can work for alot of different scenes.

No, making something invisible doesn't affect render times. Often when I use P5 dynamic hair, I turn it invisible for test renders, since that renders so dang slow with it.

In P5 render settings, make sure you change the maximum texture map size and minimum shading rate. By not changing it, P5 is basically altering your texture to be 1024 instead of your intended 4000. So up that to 4000 or 4096. And minimum shading rate is something I just discovered what it effects. I got the v3 active wear plus textures from DAZ, and the lace corset tex looked like a$$. By by lowering the shading rate, it made it look great. Default is 2.00 while production mode default is 0.500. I dropped it down to 0.001, and the texture turned out nice. I think this will help you, as the tex looked similar to how that leg hair looks. Hope that helps you out.

Hmm. I still can't connect to the site. I've been able to once since the restructuring, and even then it took forever to open. Odd
Thread: Vicky 3, Injecting Morphs in Poser 5 | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I have had absolutely no problem with the morph injection system. Applying all morphs (either body or head) takes about 2 minutes. Did you install her to a linked runtime? or the P5 runtime?

Very nice work dodger! Time to finish up my dodger product collection. hehe. And that robot is killer. I'll definitely buy that guy when he comes out.

Oh, one more thing (besides this forum needing an edit button). When making that scene, I used the main, alt, and dolly cameras, and never got a black panel or anything. I did however have that once before, when I was testing a free bvh of a jedi backflip that was posted in free stuff. But no dungeon lights were used or abused in that endeavor.

Just tried some testing, and no zeroing. Hrm. Odd. Oh, and you were right about that image being a P5 raytraced render. thgeisel, what were your strange results that you got?

Ah, you kinda beat me to it here. So I'll just add to this one. I'll try your figures to props library here in a minute. You pretty much summed it up there. I loaded the votive, since that wasn't something that I had used in the scene yet. Positioned it to be at the same spot as the glow on the staff, and deleted it. Then chose the omni that came with the votive, and parented it to the staff. Then just changed the colors by using the paramater pallete. One other thing I found _dodger (not sure if this has been mentioned yet) I put the Minotaur in that scene before the other figures, and the prop under him. Saved it and went to bed. Worked on it the next day, and when I opened the PZ3, the prop was where it should be, but the omni was at 'zero' position-where it is when you first load the prop. I couldn't quite get it back to where it should be, so I just deleted it all, made the scene, then put in the props at the end.
