Also, there's the possibility that you didn't close the session properly when you burned your CD! Specially, if it's a multisession one! I'm not sure how it works on a PC... But with a MAC & Toast, you can quickly correct that! There's one type of CD that you should avoid altogether! The ones that are too tranparent! They suck big time! I always buy Kodak Gold! Never had a flaw yet with those... Also, if you used "DirectCD", then make sure you've got the right version of it installed! yep! Not all versions of it are "Backward" compatible. I stopped using it, once i realized that a CD written with "DirectCD" won't always work on other CPUs... Good Luck! Anik
Thread: Poser & MAX - problem with scale. | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Well, if you must know, Poser is about 9000x smaller then "Real World" units! That's how much you need to scale the figure in MAX(Which uses real world scale). But, if you use Harbware's excellent line of free Plug-ins to import the .obj in MAX. Then all you need is these 2 magic numbers: Import in MAX --> vertex scale = 100 Export from MAX -> vertex scale = 0.01 Another way to ensure that the scale remains intact specially for morphs, is to use a "Fbox" modifier(Now use the Scale tool on the "FBOX"). Just remove the modifier at the end prior to exporting. That's it!! Anik

I was asked a while back why Sony wasn't doing much to prevent the "ModChips" & copies of the games? The Answer: They sold way more units then if they had made the discs "Warez Proof"... BTW, there's already such a system that was designed right here in Quebec! It's been in use by Soft Cies that make custom software(Mostly in the $25,000+ range). So, Yes! They can make all the Software "Uncopiable"! (Pardon my French!) LOL And, as for the "Spyware" in OS. Well, i should know! Our team made such a thing on an Apple II back in College. So, if i can do it! Imagine Bill & his Team of Wiz Kids... :-))) Oh! You could easily make the "innocent" little things like "Solitaire" & "MineSweeper" do the "Spying"... Not to worry though! I give the Net a life of 2 years... Then it's back to "sign Language".. :-O Ciaos! Marco
Thread: Vicky , Vicky and more Vicky | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I personnaly prefer working with Vicky!
We have lots more stuff made for her.
I personally never get tired of "Vicky PinUps" Pics!
I Love looking at the Femal Form! ;-)
The only time i use Mike, is to make "GTS" pics...
Which i post at a site dedicated to that Fetish...
And it's indeed a reflection of society...
I was asked to help write an upcoming article on Poser
for a French Mag "Avant & Apres"(Published in French speaking
Contries only). And my friend picked out of many pics
i had done this one:

BTW, that article will appear in about 2 weeks...

Thread: How many use keyboard shortcuts? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I use most of them... Ctrl-R(Render) Ctrl-I(Object Info) Crtl-G(Ground on/Off) Ctrl-D(Figure to Ground) Ctrl-Y(To switch the Render Settings) And all the Camera ones too! Crtl F, Crtl T, Ctrl L, Crtl +, Ctrl -, Crtl ;, Ctrl ' Oh! And also Ctrl-U for the Mats!! Wish they had done some for the Import & Export ones too! :-( Glad to hear from you again!! Tada! Ron! No one is accusing you of Lying or being Nuts! Take a Deep breath! :-) From personal experience, so this is subjective! I've always had probs with IE... Every site that caused me similar probs with IE, worked fine with netscape! Only a very few would not show up at all in Netscape. But with version 6.2.1 everything is Dandy!! I know that some sites require "Java Console" enabled. And i know some folks will say that this can be a "Security" NoNo! Never had a virus since we've been on the Net... And using the Netcape Email since day one has avoided getting the .vbs ones! We also do a "Cookie" Cleanup on a regular basis! Really wish i could give you a Magic formula... It's all trial & error! Cause, no system is the same. Later! Anik

Thread: Hoist up the Jon B's sails... | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Problem with the manet idea is that it's very hard to make a magnet affect a zone that's got a shape like a sailboat Since, the Water would have to have a deformation fitting the "narrow shape" of it in front & then the wider base in the middle. We are talking 5 or 6 magnets & then adjust the Falloff zones is a pain! How do i know? I've tried! And Rhaseltine has a point! People would use different water planes... But, Jim is a Wizzard! He'll figure something! ;-) Don't forget the "lifeSaver" jackets! :-)) Tada! Anik
Thread: Hoist up the Jon B's sails... | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Ah! Interesting! My Brother marco(Viomar) has been working on a similar project... His has 2 masts & 5 Sails... We are talking about a 60 feet Luxury Yacht! :-) And we have come across similar problems! After much debate & trials, it was apparent that the only viable approach for us was to use EMC(Not sure if it's the right one!)?? Meaning, we have a morph that affects others! So, by pulling on the rope, the sails will move accordingly! Now, it's sounds easy enough! But, making the morphs & then making them behave properly is Painful!! We hadn't tought about the water issue! But, If you are making a shot of the interior, then most likely the water won't matter! But, now that i think about it, i'll have to add additional materail regions, so one can just make a section of the hull Invisible for just those shots! Looking very Good Jim!! How to make the sails Translucide while maintaining that Clothe effect??? Well, how about simply making a good bump map, to simulate the cloth weaving & where the Wood pegs are, just make a trans map for those... If you then apply a texture at 25% + the Bump Map + the Trans, then i think you'd get a good replica! Since, i'll have to find a solution anyhow for our sails, i'll try this out & email you my final solution... Don't hold your breath, cause i'm just about to give birth! LOL But, i'll see if i can get it done before Jr arrives! :-)) Tada! Anik

Thread: Crosstalk Solved. | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Ron! What Rob & i said is confusing indeed! Even for i! LOL Ok! When Daz first released the Mil figures(Meaning the very first versions prior to the free updates, .cr2 only), they would behave erracticely with the "null Loader"! Any "updated Version" & subsequent ones(V2 & M2) still require the "null Loaders" to prevent "Crosstalk"!! But, they now behave constantly!! Hope this clears things a bit for you! And Rob!! Very innovative & Logical idea for making .pz3 files reusable!! I've tried it last night 7 works great!! My Brother handed me a copy of that "Cr2 Bible" in printed form! Very interesting! Later!! Anik
Thread: Crosstalk Solved. | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I have no problem of such! I just load the "Null Loader" in a totaly "Empty scene", then select the "Body" of the Null loader & load Vicky. Then select "body" of Null Loader again, etc... And those "mil" figures are not "prepped" in any special way. They even have clothes & props already set to them... But, jwkub is right! Saving it in a .pz3 file wrecks everything! Now, i just save my characters with their clothing & Hair Save the Poses for relevant figures & props... Actually makes it easier & faster that way, then just saving as .pz3 & then Loading a 100 meg file! So, is it because i always select the "Body" of the Null Loader before loading the next "mil" figure or that i always start from a "completely Empty" scene each time??? I wish i knew... I'll have to run some tests this weekend to accertain this! Hope that by comparing notes, we can find a "stable" solution! Tada! Anik
Thread: HOT Topic! | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Yeap! I was a "jester" in another life... But, My bro did make a plug-in that's partialy working for Max, that does just that! So, far it crashes on meshes that have to many vertices... But, who knows??? Maybe the folks at Curious Labs have already sloved that for poser5!(Crossing fingers!) Basically, how Marco went about it is simply create what's called a "matrix" in programming, that keeps track of vertices or faces for "predefined" groups. There's already a good explanation of the priciples & algorythms invlolved available in 3D Math books... The problem with doing it with the vertices, is that it gets too complicated for even High-End PCs(p4 1.6ghz) too handle! So, the only "Viable" aternative is with faces or groups of them... Anyhow, Back to "posing"... Tada! Anik
