Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2025 Feb 18 5:11 pm)
2.a -> Ok! You are ready to load "Clothe X"! Open the Library & Pick your item!
------ What? Don't you mean from the Geometry Folder? Nope! The reason is
------ quite simple! How are you going to adjust it to fit the Vic Mesh? I thought so!
2.b -> Ok! Now remember that from now on it's "trial & error"! And you should
------ save this file to a new name, like "Cloth-Vconv.PZ3"
2.c -> Now, Change "Cloth X"'s Display Mode to "Outline" Mode. Makes it easier
------ to start! You will switch between this mode & "Smooth Shaded line" a lot!
2.d -> I usualy start with the "hip"! Scale it so, until it's close to Vciky's shape,
------ then continue to do so until all the required parts of the "Cloth X" fit the
------ general shape of Vicky! Don't be afraid to switch often between views &
------ shading modes! As a tip you can create "Camera Dots" to switch quickly!
2.e -> Oh! But, the bending of the Arms & Legs is giving me problems! They don't
------ lign up! Ah! Now you see the reason why we loaded the cloth from the Library
------ as a "poseable Figure"! :-) Never second guess a Vulcan!
2.f -> So, yes! Use those Dials to better fit it! And if you really want a "Snug Fit"
------ then you will require "Magnets"!(Another tut, Maybe). I used 22 magnets for
------ converting "KillySuit"(BATLAbs). A quick tip for mirroring Magnets: Always
------ Parent the "Mag Zone" to it's corresponding "Mag Base". Then, to copy the exact
------ same effect to the other side(ex.: Magnet for Left Buttock to copy to right one).
------ then, simply create another Magnet on the right Buttock, then go back to left
------ Magnet base & "Copy & Paste" to Right Magnet base, and so on for Magnet &
------ Zones! Ah! But, it puts it right on top of the Left one!! Oh! Yes!
------ "Negative values" become "postive"... :-) MAKE SURE YOU SAVE OFTEN!!
3.a -> Once you've fitted the cloth to Vicky with satisfaction,
------ then it's time to export it!
3.b -> Export with only "Include body part names in polygon
------ groups"! Leave the rest off!
3.c -> now, re-Import it into Poser! Before you delete the
------ "Figure Cloth", check the ------ new imported mesh with
------ "Group Tool", if you don't see all the "BodyParts" in
------ the list, then you need to erase that mesh & redo the
------ export again! (Better safe then sorry!)
3.d -> ok! Now that you made sure it was ok, you can delete
------ the "Cloth Figure".
3.e -> Please note all the Dials on the Mesh Cloth are at "0"!
------ Make sure they are still that way when you export in
------ the final phase!!
4.a -> Ok! The easy Part! No, Really! Remember when i told you to "Spawn" Vicky's
------ Mesh into it's individual BodyParts(1.b)? Well, here comes the why!
------ Now, load the "Hierarchy Window" & Hide all BodyParts, except "hip"
------ (Just hit the "eye" icon next to the Bodyparts(Props as they are now).
------ That now makes it easy to work on only one part without Vicky in the way! ;-)
4.b -> You can either "unlock" the hip & move it sideways or move the cloth mesh.
------ Whatever your preference! But, i would suggest moving the cloth instead!
4.c -> Select the cloth, & click the "Group Tool". Create a "newGroup"!
------ This very important! It will serve as a "Buffer" to copy the group you are working
------ on, in case you make a BooBoo! No Undos at all! :-(
4.d -> Make sue the "hip" group is selected, then gradually start removing the
------ "unwanted" Faces until you get a similar look to Vikcy's hip! It doesn't have
------ to be exact! In fact, you will probably won't be able to match it perfectly!
------ Because, the cloth mesh was not created with Vicky in mind. Just look at
------ the pic to see that my hip has a "Squared" look to it(like it's got antialazing
------ turn off! LOL). Just get the general shape! use the cameras to look at
------ it from all directions! Also, use "Wireframe" & "Faceted W/Lines" a lot!
------ A quick tip: WireFrame Mode: you pick Faces across the mesh(Back & Front).
------ Faceted mode: You only pick Faces that are visible to the camera...
4.e -> Ok! The hip is done! Don't touch it again! Now, move to the Abdomen.
------ This time, don't bother with the lower part of it that connects to the hip!
------ Because, here comes the neat trick, you just select more faces so they overlap
------ where you know the "New" hip group lies & just click "Remove Group" & select
------ the "Hip Group"! Voila! Now the top of the hip & the bottom of the abdomen fit!
------ You will do this a lot! So remember it!
4.f -> So, you've managed to make it through all the bodyparts! Not so hard was it?
------ Actually, i swore a lot myself on my first attempt! Pratice! Pracice! Practice!
4.g -> Don't forget to click on "Show Multigrouped Faces" & "Show Nongrouped Faces"
------ Near the End! And in WireFrame Mode Please!! Cause, the illy Suit had this very
------ pretty "Belt" that cut right into 4 groups! So, we don't want to forget a tiny Face
------ of the Buckle! The results would be Funny, But not professional! :-O
4.h -> Remember that "newgroup" you used as a "Buffer"? Well, Delete it now!
5.a -> ok! You now have to delete all of Vicky's Parts from Poser! And i mean All of them!
------ The reason will become apparent shortly, just humour me! A Quick way to do this is
------ to goto to "Box Mode"(Refresh of Work Window). Then open "Hierarchy" Window
------ and click on parts & hit "Del" Key! A Note here! It kept all digits for the Killy Suit to
------ begin with, cause it has gloves! But, you can have "VickyGroups.pz3" in different
------ versons: one Full, one without the head, one without the hands & fingers.... You
------ get the idea! That will save time at the end.
5.b -> Now, that Vicky's Parts are gone, slect "Cloth Mesh", click on "Group" Tool & then
------ click on "Spawn Props"! Now you see the reason for getting rid of Vicky's Parts?
------ Well, Poser would have rename the "Spawn Parts" because of duplicate names...
5.c -> Ok! Now Export the "Cloth Parts" with only "Include BodyPart Names in..."
------ A Note here!! Remember how you moved the cloth around, so you can see Vicky's
------ Counterpart while "Recutting" the groups! Well, it would be advisable to reset any
------ Dials to "0"! Otherwise, the "Conforming" bit will fail drastically!
6.a -> There a many ways to do it! The easy way or the easy
------ way(Just more work).
6.b -> Marco's preferred method: Use P-Wizard! (That one
------ requires no Tut to use).
6.c -> The "Manual" way is to edit a "Vicky 1 or 2" .Cr2:
-- Simply change the line
-- "figureResFile Runtime:Geometries:ZygotePeople:blMilWom.obj" to
-- "figureResFile :Runtime:GeometriesKillySuitV.obj" !
-- There's 2 Instances of this line! Make sure to change both!
-- Also, remove all the Material lines(That are Vicky's) & put
-- the ones from the "Cloth's .Cr2"! That's it! Save your new
-- .CR2 to a meaningful name like "KillySuit V2.Cr2" and you have
-- yourself a Brand new Piece of Wear for Vicky!
I Sincerely hope that this little walkthrough has helped
demistify the process a Bit!
Marco(Aka Viomar) <---- Needs a Big Cup of Coffee & Cookies!
p.s.: Meshes were brutaly harmed in the process!
All in the name of Science!
And ask forgivness for any Typos(There's plenty!).
Thanks, Tashar! Well, i rush it a bit! I'm not good at such things! Was going to make "Screen Caps" of lots of things, then realized that i was losing my train of thought... I guess, if you combine this "walkThrough" with Geep's Excellent & Funny "Visual" Primers. Then your set! If any new questions arise from this or things are unclear, just Howler! Marco <-- Going to count "Virtual sheeps" or "Virtual Vickys... :-)
Well, i first need to find a good "Screen Capture" app... Cause, doing it with "Print Screen" is just to time consuming! Copy, then switch to Paint, Paste Save... :-) So, if any of you have good "Free" ones to recommend, let me know! Then i could probably make a PDF file at work, so MAC & PC Folks don't say "Hey! They have a better version" LOL In the meantime, i'll start "Breaking" down the steps to a more concise format! Et je dvrais en faire une version en Francais aussi... ;-) Marco p.s.: Last line is for the "French Speaking Comrades"!

I'd say Irfanview, Optical. Plus it views images (primary function), converts, makes contact sheets, and a lot more..
Yes, Geep! I have! But, again you are faced with pasting into a paint program between each "Snapshot". Unless, Poser Creates an indexed images of it's own?? Scratches Head in a "Primate" kinda way with his toes. Have to check that out! Thanks! Marco <-- Who's going to take his time to do it right... :-)

Gimp will do it, Files > acquire > Screen Shot. You can save to where you want. Tashar 59This site uses cookies to deliver the best experience. A quick Tut of "Cutting" a P4Woman(Posette) Clothing figure to fit Vicky1-2!Step #1: Prepare your Vicky Mesh to facilitate things Visualy!
1.a -> Load the Vicky Mesh "...GeometriesZygotePeopleblMilWom.obj"
1.b -> Click "Group Tool" & then hit "Spawn props"(The reason will come forth).
1.c -> Delete "blMilWom" from Prop list.
1.d -> "Lock" each Part! It will save you lots of Pains Later!
1.e -> Color Code each Part(Look at Pic for reference)
-----> Make sure Make "Highlight", "Reflection" colors Black & at 0%
------ (This is to prevent "Glare Effects" from the Lights*)
1.f -> Now at this point, you can save this as "VickyGroups.PZ3", if you want to
------ use this setup for other clothes Converversions(A starting point).
Note: There's no special order to the pics!
