If you transorm the image into several grayscale layers and seperate each layer, you then can recreate them into the terrain editor, then apply several volume textures. If I had time I would give it a try, but am way to busy with work. Good luck!! :)

Can we do post work in after effects or is this strickley bryce only? Can I use poser for this contest as well?

I might be interested in Vue, but first i would need OS X, and then try the demo. Perhaps the people at DAZ could buy Bryce. I'd go for that. :)
Thread: :: What Bryce 6 should be like...if possible! :: | Forum: Bryce
There are only a few things to I would like to have included in a new version of Bryce. 1) An expanded tree lab that includes bushes, flowers, and various grasses (all of which are affected by #2) 2) Wind and rain effects. The wind effects could be done the same way the lights are done, but instead of luminence control it could be wind power. The wind could affect the rain/snow to some degree. The rain/snow could be done as a plane texture that drops particles with animation controls only available in the sky lab if the rain snow plane is in use. 3) Wave/ripple generator (i have yet to figure out how do do this yet , But i would like it also to be affected by the rain/snow. For example if you are on a lake and it starts to rain, the lake reacts to the rain. 4) Dual processor ready (but allow Bryce to work with single proccesor systems as well) 5) Faster renderer 6) Poser or Daz plugin (simular to mover 4) But this is only if you have time. I do not know how the math would work to add in these features, but I would like any new features to beas user friendly as possible. Doc Mojo if you would like me to expand on my ideas please just ask. Thank you for taking the time to listen to all the Bryce fans. :)
Thread: Byce's future : some questions answered | Forum: Bryce
I personally love the Bryce interface. It's an easy, out of the box--no instructions needed--userfriendly interface. I demonstrated to the computer teachers how easy Bryce was to use (as some of our high school students are not as computer savy as others) and the school bought 5 copies. I am planing on using Bryce for the graphics and animations for my computer game (along with some posers stuff of course). i just tried the demo of Mojo World, and have now descided to find and read the documentation, because i found it (mojo world) very complicated. It is not user friendly (although this might change after I read the manual) I have been using Bryce since the demo of version 2 came out. I have used Bryce 2 to create a 6 minute film for my grade 12 history project (roughly 80 + hours of frame by frame shots) and Bryce 5 to create a 2 minute WWI film for a multimedia cd (a work in progress) on the history of flight. I plan on spending the $550 Canadian to purchase a new version of Bryce (so long as my computer can run it), but I do not want Bryce to loose it's simple out of the box ease of use. If the interface changes to incorporate new features--fine, but if i have to spend days reading the manual to create a simple scene...then i will be angry. Please remember: Bryce is an amazing program that can do Great things, but was made for simple people. Thank you for your time. Sincerely, David :)
Thread: $$$Money question. What would you charge? | Forum: Bryce
Hi. 5 feet (or 60 inches) would be about 6000 pixels and three feet (or 36 inches) would be 3600 pixels. So go Into bryces document set up and change the dimensions to 6000 X 3600. But the better question is how are you going to print that? I don't know what to charge...maybe $12/hour plus printing expenses.
Thread: ATTENTION: - NO MORE BRYCE? | Forum: Bryce
I think that if Corel had to sell Bryce it should go to DAZ3d because they are actually listening to the customer's input, while other companies (Cough cough Curious Labs cough) will not even consider using OpenGL or releasing sub par programs to make money. :)
Thread: getting a bad feeling from Corel... | Forum: Bryce
I work 20 min away for Corel's Office building in Ottawa, Ontario Canada, and yet it took me 6 weeks for my copy of Bryce 5 to be delivered. Anyway...bryce is a very good tool, I actually conviced the High School I'm at to buy 5 copies for their computer design course. They love. All the students that have taken the course love it. There is a market for Bryce. I'm working on a computer game and creating 90% of the enviroments (3/4 isometric view) in Bryce. I would love to see an update. Perhaps we can start a letter writing campain or something. Not emails, but physical letter. I doubt that they could ignore hundreds of letters. Just my two cents. :)

Since Bryce is a landscaping 3d program at it's heart, I suggest that they add the ability to simulate wind and gravity effects. This alone would allow for easier and more realiastic waves. Also give the water plane more fluidic properties of water which would allow for waterfall. These water properties could turned on and off like the render options under the premium setting. The program should have the ability to interact with poser scenes, and the new Daz program. As for a Bryce modeler. Give the bryce terrain editor the ability to allow objects created within it to take on properties of diferent objects. For example you make a greyscale map of a double helix, have an option that allows the item to either be built out of individual cubes, spheres, etc. or to take the shape (properties) of an object (cube sphere, pyramid, etc.) Just my 2 cents... :)

Thread: Question about Frame rates. | Forum: Bryce
Hi. The lowest frame rate a animation should hae with out looking to jumpy is 15 frames per second (fps). Film is 24 fps PAL format ( Tv in Europe) is 25 fps NTSC (north american tv) is 30 fps. :)
