It`s a pity that Dark Whisper made a mistake, but in his defense I witnessed his attempts to check points of copyright in his gallery postings of Nicole, and had personal contact about 1 point he was trying to check. I guess the moral is create everything from scratch.

Poser is actually quite limited. You need a paint package to create textures, you need a 3D modeller to create props, etc. A lot of artists do touch-up work on their gallery pieces after 3D rendering. I would say there is no such thing as "Pure Poser" at all. If you look at other galleries youll find poser figures in the Truespace or Bryce pictures. It is this mixing of software that makes everything so exciting, and unfortunately sometimes baffling. Dont be afraid to ask anyone about their work, most people at Renderosity are extremely friendly and only too happy to talk about their work, just remember some of them are very busy people and may not reply immediately or at all. Try importing a Poser head and shoulders into Rhino and then using that as a mannequin to overlay onto. Most Poser hair involves layered planes shaped over the head, with trans and tex maps to add most detail. I use Animation Master. It`s slow but has two major advantages: It works in splines, and allows all viewports to be rotated to get the best views. If Rhino allows this then your laughing. My hardest task is learning to think in 3D. If Rhino import/exports OBJ files then you can use Poser to tweak the shape with its scale and magnets options.

$200? Hah, chickenfeed! One company at Turbosquid is selling a Poser character, a POSER character mind, at $795.00 US !! To be fair there is some great stuff there, and pretty cheap too, but it has professional companies in there as well as individuals, hence the stupid prices of some stuff.

Re Choholes message. A set of Schlabbers hand poses are available now at the 3D Comic Collective site (there`s a link to it on the bottom right of this page). It contains 90+ hand poses, including some specific "holding poses", and is free. It is in the "Misc" section on page 7.

Don`t forget to factor into all this the Power of the newbie! I remember downloading many items when I first found Renderosity just to see what they were, or in my ignorance items that were unusable.
