I second Rex's post above! - these people are inconsequential in the scheme of things. try to switch off from the juvenile and illiterate hate mail and get on with it! {And THAT is exactly the attitude I was describing that's led me to quitting. Renderosity will have its traffic, and what happens to individual members is of no importance to them.} Well I would hate to thnink that was completely true, and as a vendor, you have (like it or not) more value to renderosity than a non vendor, since your sales help pay for it to continue anyway. It's a viscious circle, because as an artist, people expect you to be sensitive, how would you create art without that!? - but sadly, you have to detach your sensitivity from the talentless and jealous wankers that prevail here. If you ignore them, maybe they will go away!? Best wishes

Thread: Why Do Poser Figures Render Like Wood In Bryce? | Forum: Bryce
No offence here, but that isn't a good example of the bryce render engine compared to posers. There is no hair texture other than trans on that example (bryce version) and as has been pointed out, with a little tweaking with materials like bump, specularity et al, the results can be much higher!. Posers only real advantage IMO is it's pseudo soft shadowing.

{Anyway, I'm glad I have a pc and usually feel sorry for mac users, not because it's a bad machine, but because they gotta pay 3 times as much for everythign, to get the saem results as on a pc, for 1/3 the price... :) } Eh? - I am a Mac user and there isn't anything that I can think of that costs 2 or 3 times more than for PC!?!? I for one am very interested in the abilities of Vue 4 but I wont even consider it til I know that it is stable.

Thread: URGENT! - Desperately seeking a suitable hair prop... | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I read the read-me. That didnt sort out the problem, even following the set of coordinates I was told to punch in. If I had had time to email you or Daz and wait for a reply that might have taken a few hours or days to come, I would have. Anton, I don't know you, you don't know me, but you are over reacting and being patronising in the process (especially in your IM) The subject is closed as far as I am concerned and was hardly worthy of this much attention in the first place.

I did not call you an idiot - i said it was an 'idiotic oversight' for an item such as this, at that price, to require extra effort just to have the thing fit the model it's supposed to. {Zero your figures hip and body and you will see that it fits "out of the box"} Didn't notice that in the blurb when I bought it!? Anyway, as I said, 'calm down', you are being over sensitive. I was annoyed and under pressure at the time and so retract the severity of my comment now (hence it's removal) but I do not need to 'save face' for anything. My criticism of the product (for that one problem) is valid and remains, and you should be a big enough to accept that. I have bought other products of yours in the past, and if necessary, I will again. And from what I see, they are of a high quality in most cases. Best wishes kromekat

I removed the apparently 'offensive' comment , but as I said in the IM, you should be a little more open to criticism, it is afterall an expensive item(s) (on the scale) , despite its versatility, and too have to spend time actually getting it to fit a completely 'out of the box' Vicky1 when you have a deadline to meet is infuriating! - ah well, job done. :)

Ok, well I did a test earlier to see the viability of creating 'presets' of my textures, and I took the moss/twigs from Ultimate Woodland as an example. I made this into a material with all the required bump, diffuse and ambient settings etc., exported as a single mat file that you could then simply import, but the file size (uncompressed) of that one file was 3.8Mb as opposed to about 500k!!! - this would make for very large downloads of a package or genre, ie: barks, mosses etc. The only way that i can see around it, would be to knock down the resolution of the textures to about half (500px) which theoretically, would lower the individual map size to about a quarter of the above - but, detail would be lost for larger, or closer to camera rendering. I will experiment some more and let you know what could be done!
