Brushes won't work "backwards".
you need to have someone with CS "stamp" various blank areas on a page with each brush and save the layered file. Open this in ver7 and "re"define the brushes.
as far as i know, Adobe has not released any plugin or program to convert brushes.

There's a site where you can make a pic out of binary code and they also do ASCII too so try a look at TEXT-IMAGE.com and see if it's what you're looking for...

search the forum archives for the word "stock" and you should get some past threads with URLs to free and pay stock photo sites. :) retrocity

also the higher the resolution the more PS needs to keep track of... smudge is one of the more RAM intense tools - try to zoom up and use a smaller brush. :| retrocity

are you copying and pasting to the same file?? if not, are the files @ the same resolution?? (that would explain the change in size...) :) retrocity

i usually spend $40 on coffee while i read and jot notes from the books ;)
i do know the book has been updated to reflect the current version of PS but i also know it still has the base stuff that made it useful when it was first published...
as for doling out $$ for books... there are worse things to toss it on.

I use Acid Pro myself, but they also have a (free) "lite" version called AcidExpress (look on the sidebar).
If you go to AcidPlanet you can download an 8Pack each week - [An 8pack project is an ACID file that includes eight loops arranged into a song. 8pack projects illustrate how a song is constructed in ACID software, and how easy it is to combine loops ]
great way to build up a loop library
