Im not aware of any problems with texture sizes, what are your render settings? do you have an image showing the problem?
Thread: Is Mimic better than PoserSpeak? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
from what I understand Poserspeak is purely keyed off of typed text and creates an electronic voice track from that, and does not actually key off of a natural recorded voice track wwheras Mimic actually anylizes a natural voice track and creates the keys off of that. the text track is only there for added accuracy. I'm not aware if poserspeak actually offers you a timeline to fine tune your lipSync. Mimic does have an advanced timeline to do so.
Thread: Yet another thread about skin shaders, lighting and realism... | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
from what I have seen real skin is lighting dependant to a great extent. Sub surface scattering has a large effect on the color and texture of real world skin. skin is actually translucent. but even if that weren't the case. very few renderers are truely realistic in how they render surfaces so there is always going to be some shortcut solutions that may not make sense if you look at their real world counterpart.

Actually DAZ uses Modo primarily now. I have to put in my vote for CINEMA 4D since it hasn't been mentioned yet though. ;)
Thread: Faceshop Pro thread closed by staff after degenerating into a flamefest | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
um what personal attack? you intimated that the thread was locked due to overreacting (I assume that's what you meant by overacting, or did you mean that someone was hamming it up?)and people were simply disagreeing with your assertion that the thread deserved to be saved.

Sorry I didn't see 10 pages of hardcore info there, I saw maybe five pages of good info before it desolved into personal attack after personal attack for just as many pages. if a thread goes for 5 pages without a civil word being spoken I think it has lost all semblance of being a helpful thread.
Thread: Free Hair for V4 | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
you are welcome folks, so as to adhere to the rules of this forum, I will just say that you can find a link to the ballerina set on the freebie page.
Thread: Set up / rigging boots question | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
the secret to grouping in poser is that in poser solid view is select only what is visible, to select hard to reach polygons switch to wireframe view that changes selection mode to select all, right through to the back of the mesh. though frankly I agree that poser grouping tool is a PIA to work with and I would rather do that part of the job in my modeler.
Thread: Set up / rigging boots question | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I recommend never doing any grouping in the setup room. for some reason it often screws up grouping on save. if you have to group in Poser do so in the pose room and save the resulting object out, just in case poser glitches and creates a bad cr2.

Thread: Feeling stupid... | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
not a problem Poser only saves one figure pose at a time. so select the male figure save pose, then select the female figure and save pose, you have your two poses.
Thread: What program needed to make video tutorials? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
the benifits of camtasia studio is that its an all in one solution, from screen capture, to an excellent timeline editor, to voice over, and subtitling, to outputting in multiple formats. its an expensive program but really the best for video tutorial production. I tried a bunch of the free ones before breaking down and getting camtasia studio and found the free ones crashed far too often (camstudio is actually a very old version of camtasia).
Thread: P7 Tip: Using eyes "point at" poser camera ... so model always looks at you... | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
using point at for the eyes is good if your camera is set up far enough from the figure, if its up close you need to dolly the camera back and use the zoom function (this is also important to avoid focal length distortions. if the camera is too close and you use the eyes point at function you will end up with a crosseyed look. another good use of the point at function is to create a dummy prop and use point at on spot lights that will make the spots point at the dummy prop this will make it far easier to focus them in the scene at a specific spot.
Thread: v 4.1 frustrations | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Becouse Poser 7 allows you to use a shallow file search you can use V4.1 in an external runtime with little to no extra wait. simply go into your Poser general prefrences and switch your file search under library to shallow. you will find that fixes your wait issue. I wish Poser 5 and 6 had this option.
