"It appears to refer to watching TV via broadband". It does. My thought is how can they tell precisely who's accessed a site and exactly where they are. OK, you can record the refering IP, but 90% of these are dynamic. The only way they could do it either a blanket approach. where they nail every broadband user.Or through their plans to use a modfied form of media player (using an "uncrackable" codec to stop piracy) which could identify users. tropob I agree with you. I installed some video editing software (Pinnacle) on a customers machine. The programme installs fine, but every time he wants to use a feature (example DVD burn or use a new codec) it demands a net connection to authticate it. Most of the time he's out in the field and uses this on a laptop wired via a video capture box to a (very tasty) pro-am Sony camcorder. When you finally get hold of someone at Pinnacle all you get is "can't you find a phone box". Not bad for 200. Also According to this weeks Computeractive magazine Microsoft are stopping online activation. al ps: in anwser to your question my old shops policy was you can legally sell an "old" programme as long it was uninstalled from the original pc. It's because you are buying a licence and NOT a physical product.
