Yep Pozers Little Helper does a great job extracting the deltas from a Morph obj file and saving out a nice neat injection pose in either a self contained pz2 or using DAZ's external delta setup. and you dont even have to split your groups to use it.
Thread: Preview mode, no texture | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
if you have Poser 6 or 7 you can use open gl mode but frankly Poser's Open GL doesnt do well with multiple layers of transparency so no matter what the hair with transparency will look rather strange.

Yes, if the textures really stood out then you wouldn't need to be so original with the morphs but the textures would also have to truely be something original and indispensable to do so.

no offense but if you have to use side by side comparisons, to convince people that it's different it's still way too close for people to plunk their money down on. for a personal project this work is fine, but if you want to grab customers it has to be original enough that you don't have to convince anyone that it's different enough to plunk their hard earned money down on. as has been said before you are going to have one chance to convince people to click on your thumbnail to even bother to see a larger image, and if the customer can't see a difference without a comparison they will pass it right by.
Thread: obj morph??? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
the easiest permissable way to distribute a morph these days for A DAZ figure is via morph injection files which are fairly easy to produce. You could skip this and go the RTEncoder route but thats more of a hassle for users. as far as creating injection poses, if you know your way around cr2 and pz2 files loading the morph and stripping it out is not difficult, though I find the several tools availible to create morph injection poses much easier. Do a search on the web for Pozers little helper, that program is free though some are intimidated a bit by the interface. or Dimension3d has morph injection creation software in his Tool Collection

if you are trying to use infinate lights for an enclosed space you won't get good results, you have to use point or spot lights with their origin within the space as Miss Nancy said.
Thread: P7 Morph Brush or ZBrush... | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I find the P7 morph brush agonizingly slow to work with and rather cumbersom compared to using a dedicated modeler. and I have a fast dual core computer. so factor that in. if the morph brush is the only thing you have then yeah its worth it if you have a lot of patiance, but frankly in comparison, modelers such as have been listed and ZBrush are able to work extremely fast and clean.

I'm sure it probably won't make any more difference to you then what the others have posted but I will throw in my opinon as a DAZ brokered merchant. Frankly if you are looking to sell at DAZ this character is nowhere near original enough to do so. As the others have said while you have made subtle changes to the face, Subtle doesn't sell. It is not different enough in shape for customers to find it worth paying extra for. No one is saying to make characatures, but there are a lot of variations of faces and still some that are not covered in the marketplace yours is too similar to what is out there IMO. Skin textures fall into two catagories that I would purchase. the first is more illustrative, painterly as say the work of Liquid Rust http://www.daz3d.com/i.x/shop/itemdetails/-/?item=5218&cat=350 the second is more realistic such as the work of Danae http://market.renderosity.com/mod/bcs/index.php?ViewProduct=54193&vendor=5262 I have purchased both of these products. Neither of these merchants use premade merchant resources for their textures Danae uses Photographs from 3DSK to create her own custom textures and I am not sure what liquid rust does, but frankly DAZ tends to pass on texture sets that use merchant Resources as a starting point. No offense but there is not enough of an illustrative look to your skin texture for me to be interested in it for that type of look and there is not enough detail for me to be interested in it for a realistic look. In addition the eyebrows look a bit pasted on, eyebrows are more whispy, they have hairs that extend more naturally out of the shape of the eyebrow and vary in size and thickness. take a look at the other textures that have been posted in this thread and see that the eybrows dont form a sharply deliniated block but have variation. Sorry if that was harsh, but I think if you are struggling to get something into DAZ you need to understand what you are up against.
Thread: Too quiet in here - let's start a fight. Depth mapped shadows are useless! | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I agree that recently in poser there is more and more reasons to use raytracing over depth mapped shadows now that raytracing can do decent soft shadows. but that wasn't always the case, in earlier versions of poser that had raytracing it was nearly impossible to do good soft shadows with raytracing, and still poser raytracing has difficulties making shadows of transmapped objects look good. I will still tend to go with depth maps for their quick soft shadow abilities as long as I am not looking for 100% accuracy.
Thread: Can't I post positive things about Poser over at daz3d? Post deleted... wtf? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
As has been stated the post was never deleted but moved from the DAZ|Studio freepository to the DAZ|Studio Discussion Forum. While we will remove posts from view for Violating the TOS of our forum we do not do so for simply posting something critical of a DAZ product, or promoting an alternate product, but we do reserve the right to move things to a more apropriate forum.
Thread: How to remove a group from a .cr2 file? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Attached Link: http://www.geocities.co.jp/Bookend-Ohgai/9483/tool/index_e.html
I prefer cr2 Builder availible at this link, its a bit more robust then cr2 Editor. and has more modern editing features. the benifit of these free cr2 editors is that everything is grouped in a very organized manner, so doing something like what you are asking, is extremely easy.Thread: Why does clothes appear invisible when I select them from library? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Quote - Hello all,
Alright, I've been trying to follow the directions that Joel has given and applied the clothes (in this case, jeans) to victoria 4 (they are V4 jeans) and it still not showing. Now, I'm assuming when he said item menu, he meant library, right? And, because I'm very new to this poser, I just installed all my clothes items into the Poser 7 folder, so, the jeans and other clothes appear in the pose library, I'm not sure if thats correct either. Now, Acadia, the only option I have from poser when I try adding the jeans to the figure is the single checkmark that says, 'apply original pose' I'm guessing that the clothes are in the incorrect folder, right? :Fonzie
ah ok there's your problem you are applying material poses, those are not clothing but materials for clothing. Clothing will be in cr2 format and will be found in the figures library. you may not have the clothing that your materials are for, can you give us the name of the packages you are trying to use?

also raising the shadow map size on shadow mapped shadows will help add detail to the map.
Thread: vick4 install problems | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
V4 works properly as is only in Poser 6 and up. you can make her work without those warnings in Poser 5 but it involves using a text editor on the cr2 and all the files in the !DAZ/Victoria 4 folder, (you have to change the version number). as they are all set to Poser 6. I don't believe you will get her to work 100% in P4 not sure about ProPack.
Thread: Tool for making characters cross-compatible w A3/V3-4 etc? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
well in any case even if the geometry is the same, and you can transfer morphs you still are dealing with totally different shapes, so a morph for Aiko, won't look the same on V3, or Steph Petite or any other figure, and in fact at full strength will likely have defects due to the difference in relitive positions of the point origins. so trying to get the same character with the same morphs on different figures is pretty much impossible.
