Very nice looking. Just one comment though. Arabic is read from right to left, so books are reversed from Western form. The first page is at what Westerners think of as the back of the book.

Thread: RDS & Windows XP | Forum: Carrara
I've been using RDS 5.5 in Windows XP Home (on a new computer) nearly every day since November with no problems.

I do all of my modeling in RDS 5.5 with almost no problems. I've tried Carrara a few times and have been put off each time by one thing or another. I don't like what I find to be a muddy interface sceen in Carrara. Some Carrara capbilities and changes from RDS are attractive however and perhaps I'll change over some day. Meanwhile though, when I want to get something done quickly, RDS works for me. Tired, I think there was a thread here or in the Poser forum on going between Poser and RDS or Carrara. You need to change the scale when you import. If an object I import is too small (or too large) I compare the size I got to the size I expect. Any dimension will do. I delete the imported object and re-import, changing the default scale (4") to say 40 if the object is 1/10 what I expect. Sometimes several tries are needed to get it right. If it's close, I make the final minor adjustments on the object after import. RDS does have a plug-in to import Poser 3 models. It chokes on conforming clothes and other Poser 4 improvements, but is OK for some work. See the link for some simple renderings done in RayDream with a number of Poser models imported via the plug-in.My Store - My Gallery - My Freebies - My Web Site
Thread: Please help me! XP and Carrara | Forum: Carrara
This was the updater from Eovia. I e-mailed them when I had the problem and they indicated they were aware of the problem, but the 1.1 patch had fixed it as far as they knew. My own situation involved installing Carrara on a new computer. I'd copied over all my files but mixed up the 1.01 patch from MetaCreations and 1.1 from Eovia. When I sorted that out and ran the right one everything worked. If yours is a Windows upgrade you probably should reinstall Carrara and reapply the update. If you're still having trouble I'd ask Eovia technical support. Good luck.

Thread: Please help me! XP and Carrara | Forum: Carrara
I had the same problem, but it turned out to be my fault. I confused the old 1.01 updater with the required 1.1 updater. After running the correct 1.1 updater, Carrara started correctly with no MSVCRT message.

Thread: Windows XP with Carrara Studio 1.1??? | Forum: Carrara
The problem was with the updater. In changing computers I'd substituted the old MetaCreations 1.01 updater for the Eovia 1.1. Using the right updater did the trick.

Thread: Windows XP with Carrara Studio 1.1??? | Forum: Carrara
I've recently been moving my software to my new computer that came with XP installed. I tried to run Carrara but get this message: "Launch failed. MSVCRT.dll is not the correct version. Please reinstall the application." Re-install didn't fix the problem, nor did the installing the 1.1 patch. RD Studio 5.5, Poser PP, Bryce 4, and Vue 4 run fine. Any thoughts? Thanks.

Thread: how can I make a scan image from a slide? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Normal scans are done by reflected light but a transparency requires transmitted light. Hence, an adapter is required. Resolution tends to be a problem because of the size of a slide. Film scanners can handle a transparency as well as a negative. The image is simply inverted in software to make a positive. This step is not needed for the slide.
