I think in this particular case, the question might boil down to how the V3 mannequin was made. Personally, I think it is the responsibility of the clothing merchants to make their garments V3 compliant, if they so choose. That seems like a smarter business decision than just letting sales for previous V1/V2 clothing models vanish completely.

That looks fantastic, Jim. Just curious, will there be morphs so the garment fits both your character and stock V3?

It is all up to the creator of the clothing model, unless the Tailor has been used to apply specific DAZ figure MTs and the resulting cr2 is intended to be redistributed. For instance, clothing with V2 or V3's barbarian FBM would probably require permission from DAZ, but clothing that had just been reshaped to fit V3 would not, unless it was using DAZ morphs to achieve the V3 shape. In other words, making something fit a DAZ figure requires no permission. Making something out of a DAZ figure (or DAZ MT, or any other DAZ product) is a different story and may require permission, based on reading the extensive threads over at PP, which included statements from DAZ.

Hisminky, My Platinum Club comment was intended for Philodox. Sorry for the confusion. As far as being a merchant and market saturation, I hope it won't happen. It is becoming more competitive, no doubt. But, new people discover Poser daily and all the products are new as far as they are concerned. I bought my daughter Poser for Xmas, so there's one new customer, at least. :-)

Hisminky, Don't be surprised if some of your V2 clothes are provided with free or very inexpensive V3 upgrades over the next couple months. Clothing models can be re-cut and re-jointed and I would think that many of the clothing makers do not wish to develop slow sales as a result of V3 being released. I suspect some of them will adapt, rather than starting over with completely new models that don't work on V2 and only work on V3. Philodox, I have to assume you didn't take advantage of the Platinum Club when it cost half what it currently does. Now you are saying you aren't going to take advantage of the initial release price on V3 products. If you can't afford to spend another dime, I understand. But, waiting is costing you a lot more in the long run.

You know you could have purchased the Platinum Club for fifty bucks a little while ago. DAZ was very forthcoming about the discounts it would provide on things like V3. Look, I bought Anton's Changing Ponytail and every associated item on DAZ's site half a year ago for quite a bit more than I just paid for V3 with morphs, a bunch of textures and some new conforming hair. Now all the Changing Ponytail stuff I have, combined, sells for six bucks in the Platinum club. I don't feel ripped off because I'm not going to complain about a company's overall prices coming down. And you can get a 256 megabyte stick for less than you paid for V2. If you can't afford that, I'd suggest running V3 in Poser 4 instead of Poser 5, that should save you a couple hundred megabytes of RAM and a significant amount of processing. And I'm not a CL or P5 basher. I'm just saying it like it is.

I could never pick one from so many great ones, but, can I vote for Ori because she's hot?

V3 is less than V2 was, period. I got the V3 upgrade (and they'll let you upgrade from V1, although I have V2), all the morphs, the universal high-res texture, the make-up textures, and Anton's (assuming it's Anton's) new bombshell hair for 57 bucks. The Platinum Club membership helps. Competition? Judy? V3? Puh-leez. Inventing an association between V3 and Daz Studio? Are you guys CL thread plants, or just pessimists? Relax. It's all good here.

Dan, I think the way you're doing the morphs separately is great. This allows consumers not to have to pay for some of the morphs they don't want, and it also allows us to avoid unwanted morphs eating RAM. I mean, we've all got our own thing, and I'm probably gonna take a pass on the "hideously obese" Vicki pack, if it is available. I'm still stoked about that wrist tendon. :-) And Anton, your recent image makes the new mat zones quite clear (and logical). I definitely jumped the panic gun on that one. Thanks again. And btw, I had no idea you were such a cool and funny dude. Much props to you. Now, if you'll excuse me, I gotta line for a hobbit thing.

I'm really anxious to see how you guys did the stripped Cr2s and morph files. That could solve a lot of distribution issues. I'm not too worried about her groin. If she has more mesh we can put new morphs there ourselves, if we want.
Her wrist and armpit tendons look remarkable.

You're welcome. :-)
I thought that was Shauna. She's a bit of heaven on two legs, for sure (at least from my perspective).
BTW, the smudge tool is also the secret to end wisps in postwork hair. Glad I could help. You'll find many here with a lot more knowledge than me. :-)

Roger, Anton. Thanks. Nine betas? Sheesh! When you could have just had one big public one after release? running and ducking

I know the addiction. I have two amazons, an african grey and a pionus. When the phone rings at my house, I get to hear "hello!" coming from every direction. Hey, maybe Anton will do a Toon parrot next, for Mosca!
