"is white the max and black the minimum and grays the in-between?" That's about it... same also lpies to transmaps, you can make something seethrough by apliying greyscales instead of pure withe :) As long as you get the basics, you'll be alright just do some experiment. Axe.

Well I make both In Paint Shop Pro... shrugs So I guess any other halfway decent paint program can handle it. They aren't that hard to make (altough templates surley help while doing transmaps.) For bump maps I just turn the texture negativ and bump up the contrast. (using Pro Pack) And transmaps are nothing more then b&W pics of the texture, white where you want a texture to show up, black where yu don't want a texture to show up... Sorry, I'm rather new to poser myself, hope this helps, otherise someone else will have to explain it more clearly :) Axe.

Mhhh.... I think the Elemental would actually make a good Golem kind of creature :) I'm a bit busy right now... but I might make a Earth/Stone/Mud/Cliff?wahtever texture for the ele at one time... Axe.

Don't go XP, seems even microsoft doesn't want to touch it with a sixteen foot pole wearing protective eyeware and rubber steel lined boots... :) OK that might be a bit over the top but XP can either run smooth on your system or just not at all. Axe. (using win '95 with '98 upgrade)

Mhh the pic seems OK for me Seravajan, the background is black wich actually should bring out the detail in a dark object as oposed to a bright background w/a dark object. The ligthing is just standard P4 as I did this close-up quickly just after finishing the character. You might want to fiddle around with your brightness/contrast/gamma settings on your monitor and/or vid card. Or close the blinds/curtains :) Always suprices me to see how many people use their PC in a brightley light room with a window letting in direct sunlight :D /shrug you could always just put it through PSP or Photoshop or wathever and brigten it up... Anyne else having trouble seeing my pic? Axe

Nothing to add but...... Porsche :) I luuuvvvv Porsches. ATM I'm just driving a Alfa Romeo 33 but I'm thinking of getting a Porsche 928 (late model V8) in a year of 4 5 when the Alfa goes in retirement. The 550 Spyder is my favorite car of all time. Anyone know of a Porsche 911 model BTW? Axe
