Oh, Iam! I know what you're saying. I haven't built my backdrop yet- it's going to be like a wine cellar. The current lighting is "see by" only. Thanks for the link and info! On my way now.

Wow, fabulous work, Mi-scha! You've given me an idea... I DO have UV Mapper! (I just forgot, duh.) Thanks, Sharen! I'll try it! If that, and my "idea" work, I'll post a pic.

Yep! Wouldn't use anything else- the new version rocks. I want to import w/o textures to try to take advantage of the transparency/translucency available with Moray textures to emulate subsurface scattering. (Glowing complexion, that is!) I gues I'll have to use an intermediary poly-adjusting type program. Oh, well. Thanks!

Wow, thanks! That's encouraging- I look and just see all the flaws! (Another nice bit from Moray.)

Yeah, there is. I haven't learned it yet, but it uses inverse kinematics. Here're some links: Moray- http://www.stmuc.com/moray/ POV- http://www.povray.org/ Poseray- (Converts poser scenes to pov or moray)- http://user.txcyber.com/~sgalls/

Sorry about the wait- got hungry. ;] I haven't done people yet, but there are several approaches. Right now most non-"cubic",objects are done thru trans, taper, and rotational sweeps, (just learned that) and bezier patches. You can generate blobs and raw files, or import UDO's. Imports include 3ds, obj, and dxf. There are also many good plugins, like trees, grass, smoke, galaxies, bsplines and mesh objects. I'm working on a project right now which involves re-assigning and reboning Mike so I can export him in manipulable pieces, and re-assemble and texture in Moray. So far I've done it on a crude scale, and it's worked.

"So, I take it that "Solids" are like modeling with primitives (cubes, sheres, etc.)?" TTBOMK, yep. :] One reason this has been good for me is the price- the renderer, POV, is free, and the GIU, Moray, is free to try (fully functional, no restrictions) and only $60 to register. I'm rendering a wineset I'm working on, to show some of the cool glass effeects I've gotten. I'll post it when it's done. (It's fast, too- the file I'm doing has medium-high antialiasing, and will probably take about 30 minutes tops. While I'm online at the same time!)

"But I know that the persone that do that is also member of Renderosity." Have you reported them? At least it would be wise to get that member banned for the protection of others. Maybe if you reference this post in Copyright, someone there can help with the FTP question. Michelle (who doesn't believe in giving up)

"bring my Poser people into my nice environments in POV, and to bring any objects I'd made into Poser so I could add them to my scences (bottles, glasses, strange objects, etc.) and make them look sensible. (Wrap Poser figures around them and position them in relation to each other etc.)" I've started a project that may accomplish the same thing. I'm basically trying to logically segment a poser figure so that it can be exported into Moray in pieces and re-assembled to make it manipulable, and to make each part single textured. (Seperate eyes, hair, etc.) The head is going to be the worst, because I'll have to re-assign all the polys into seperate groups. I've tried it with just a re-assign without re-division, and it works so far.

Catharina- This just an idea, but I've had several friends who have had the same problem of original content being pirated and given away. Now, anything you create has an automatic copyright to yoy as the creator. Simply reporting the offending person to their service provider, with a link to the original content (for verification of ownership), is usually enough to prove violation of their terms of service. (99% of hosts have that provision.) This is usually enough to get the offender's website shut down. I have done it several times, myself, so it does work.
