Thread: How do I transfer clothing morphs from V4 to new clothing? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
D-formers are magnets, they work essentially the same as Poser magnets. though they do have one difference, individual magnets can be applied to multiple bodyparts, effecting each bodypart without problems of magnet fields shifting on any of the bodyparts during bending.

there are a number of ways to create morphs starting with the poser magnets or studio D-formers, or in P7 you will have a new option which looks very cool of using a morphing brush. or you can use a magnet set, I believe that lyrra is releasing one, and I hope that Netherworks does one of his own. or you can use your modeler to create morphs and load them in poser or studio. Im not in favor of using tailor or one of the other clothing morph matchers other than the magnet sets noted above as they dont give even results, often distorting the mesh in the process somewhat. as far as automorphing matching morphs to V4's, that is a bit trickier as it involves hand editing the cr2. the basic method is to go through the cr2 on all of the morphs in the bodyparts that you want to slave to those of the base figure, and change the ERC code. the code will look something like this. valueOpDeltaAdd Figure 1 BODY:1 FBMBodyBuilder deltaAddDelta 1.000000 all you need to do is remove the :1 after BODY (if you saved the clothing with the figure or something else in the scene the number won't be 1, go ahead and remove that number the same way) For the JCMs it will actually say a bodypart name instead of BODY but you do the same thing. one word of warning on this though, resaving the clothing item in poser adds the :1 back in so make sure that you do this process after your final save of the cr2 or you will have to do it all over again.

There is some misunderstanding about what the magnetize pose does. this has nothing to do with the standard morphs, the magnets in V4 are primarily a replacement for Joint Controlled morphs, the magnetize pose only allows the clothing to be effected by those magnets. if you read my tutorial you might get a better understanding. here is a direct link to the tutorial.Thread: V3 V4 Comparison | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Quote - "V4 is actually lower poly than V3, without loosing any detail, 66,024 Polys"
If true, that would be very good news.
Don´t get me wrong, I´m not doubting you, but in that wire V4´s thighs are definitely higher rez than V3´s ???Did DAZ remove polys from her head to achieve the overall lower polycount ?
Yep its true, and I have no idea of the actuall statistics of where the polycount is higher and where its lower, I just know that they went to a huge amount of effort to sculpt V4 in the most efficiant manner possible, while still allowing a full range of morphs.

its really important to have actual lighting when you use floors. as stated by Jen, the default light that loads when creating a scene only lights things properly which are facing the camera it is not intended to actually light a scene. I highly recommend this tutorial for camera and lighting use http://digilander.libero.it/maclean/DStutorial.htm

no you dont need poser to use interposer pro, and yes there are quite a few freestanding figures you can purchase. the most popular are the Millennium figures at daz3d.com but there are also a few figures in the marketplace here, and some at ContentParadise.com as well as a few more scattered around the different poser sites.

At some point patching old models is no better than patching old programs, sooner or later you have to make advancements that go beyond patches, or or no improvements are possible. Rather than assume that what you are going to get is worse than what is availible now, why not just wait and see if it is worse or better?
Thread: Help using Poser 5 content in Daz|Studio | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
make sure when you are in the Directories section of your Prefrences you have the poser Content library selected and not Studio Content library in the dropdown. if you do that you will see an option to do a search and studio will automaticly search for all runtime libraries and add them to your content library.
Thread: Who created the DAZ millennium figures? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Another thing that is interesting to note is that Chris Creak was the original modeler of Posette back when he and the rest of the top brass of DAZ were with Zygote. I believe that Chad Smith also had something to do with posettes development. When they split off from Zygote to form DAZ, they retained the rights to the posette mesh and she evolved into V 1/2.

Unfortunately there is no way of exporting complete environments from Bryce, the new top end version of Vue professional I believe can export complete scene files but dont know much about vue. as far as exporting animation from Cinema, there is no real universal format for exporting animated figures the closest is motionbuilder fbx and neither bryce nor vue can import that format currently. As far as studio is concerned, it is my primary posing program I love its tools and for still renders I reach for Studio first becouse its quick and easy to set up a scene, but it doesnt really have much in the way of advanced animation tools, Frankly I wouldn't use poser either if I wanted to do advanced animation,as even its tools are rudimentry compared to those of C4D.
