Great thread, for some time now I was trying to do  river in mountains in Worldmachine, but  i like this idea with photoshop, give it a try...thanx!

Well, i installed it just now, and it's definitely Esprit,   with just two modules...

I think the best way is to observe reality, see how things and landscapes look  and what's the difference  between vast landscapes and your back garden for example.  Getting as much reference  as possible, studying the landscape photos and books and actually walking outdoor helps a lot.  In Vue scaling the terrain doesn't help too much, you need the details, the atmo effects (haze, fog, aerial perspective) and some objects  from which you get the sense of scale, figures or vehicles  Spedler mentioned above. In your case you try to recreate some kind of Moon  landscape I am not too familiar with and where atmo effects can't really come to use, but as you can see here......

....you need usually several levels of details in you landscape. Rough base and then fill it up with smaller craters, stones....etc......and finally add something what help us to realize how big it is.....( the human tracks here really helps)....

For me it is mostly music, all those soundscape artists like Patrick O'Hearn,  Steve Roach, Dead Can Dance or Tangerine Dream, on headphones  in the night help me usually to start something new or explore some Vue features I've never tried before...but relaxing outdoors is maybe better and  more healthy for sure :)

Yeah, this works, but I am trying to do a light ad panel, with mapped picture casting light at nearby passengers....watching too much Blade Runner you know....:)

Yeah, I tried both...so far area lights look too grainy and not as i expected.. No matter how strong it is i doesnt  affect nearby  objects  too much...but I dont give up :)

Yeah, it has, i just thought that youre - Infinite only - means that theres something more to areas lights in Vue....

Looks great, unfortunatelly I got only esprit.....maybe Light module helps..???
