Quote - > Quote - I have been making this new character from Apollo Maximus. I have not been able to find suitable hair... any suggestions?
Does anybody know how to get around what is happening with his pupils?
Thanks,
VRGLooks like a bald Kiefer Sutherland. I suggest Rievel Hair
It maybe for M3 but with some scalling should work for AM
Rievel and many of AprilYSH's other hairs like Ivandri have presets for Apollo Maximus
Thread: Victoria 4.2 not morphing? | Forum: DAZ|Studio
If you already have Victoria 4 you do not need to buy V 4.2. Just reset your downloads for V4 and Morphs++.
Also, the light version of V4.2 included with DAZ|Studio overwrites the exp files needed by V4 or V4.2, which is why the morphs no longer work. You will probably need to reinstall V4 or V4.2 and Morphs++ for the morphs to run again. Just rerunning the DZCreateEXPFiles script doesn't seem to be enough.
EDIT: I think V4 loaded with all morphs if you had Morphs++ installed (correct me if I am wrong). With V4.2 you have to inject the morphs separately.
Thread: Alternate view on showing D|S compatability (I think the poll is wrong in princi | Forum: DAZ|Studio
Aah but when you say "Works In DAZ|Studio" what version do you mean? 1.7.x, 1.8.x, 2.0.x, 2.1.x, 2.2.2.13, 2.2.2.15, 2.2.2.17 Beta or 2.2.2.20 Beta? What works in one version may not in an earlier version and DAZ break something different with each release so something that works in an earlier version may not work in a later version. At least they have started labeling new releases as Betas.
Thread: DAZ Studio Plug-ins? | Forum: DAZ|Studio
My favourite plugin is DeltaX15's free InjectPMD plugin: http://forum.daz3d.com/viewtopic.php?t=72737
In fact all his sccripts and plugins are invaluable.

Hi, sorry for sounding so abrupt above :) I hope you find NotePad++ useful. I don't do too much CR2 editing, but I find its search and replace a lifesaver for incorrect paths, and it seems faster at it than CR2 Editor, which is a bonus.
Thread: Why DAZ Studio sometimes won't load a Poser figure or clothes. | Forum: DAZ|Studio
It is not a good idea using Word, WordPad or other wordprocessors to edit a cr2 . Even if you don't accidentally save it as a Word document, they could easily insert unwanted formatting.
Use CR2Editor, NotePad or any other text editor, like NotePad++ http://notepad-plus.sourceforge.net/

I hate to be negative, but if using a common action like the Back button causes an unexpected effect, ie the upload slot getting marked as used, then the code is broken. Telling people not to use the Back button is just a workaround.

Both Paint Shop Pro and GIMP 2.4 (not the earlier versions) both support PhotoShop brushes, so you could use these for adding the overlays if PhotoShop is too expensive for you.
EDIT: I haven't tried these brushes in GIMP 2.4, most brushes do work now, but check with the merchant first.
Thread: Adding DAZ Studio Runtime Libraries to P5 as an External Runtime?? | Forum: DAZ|Studio
I'm pretty sure V4.2 does mostly work in P5. The 4000 "newer version" warnings you have to click through when you load it are a pain, but I injected the morphs and saved it back to Poser as a new figure - No more warnings. I haven't used her much in P5 and I wouldn't be surprised if V4.2 isn't 100% compatible, but I havent noticed anything yet. I wouldn't want to load more than 1 V4 though, because P5 really struggles under her weight.
Don't forget you have to copy the "Runtimelibraries!DAZVictoria 4" and "Runtimelibraries!DAZV4toV3" directories to your main Poser runtime, or the morphs won't work.
Edit caveat - mostly, spelling
Thread: How to get reflections | Forum: DAZ|Studio
Yes, you need something to reflect if you are not using reflection maps. You could simply put the object and cameras inside a large white sphere, or between two planes to get reflections, but something like the Millenium Environment would be better for a realistic scene. You will probably also need to add a light source. Render using the 3Delight renderer. The OpenGL renderer does not handle reflections well.
Thread: Adding DAZ Studio Runtime Libraries to P5 as an External Runtime?? | Forum: DAZ|Studio
DAZ|Studio Runtime directories can be used in Poser without a problem. DAZ|Studio is designed to be Poser compatible so the Runtime directory uses the same structure as Poser's. DAZ|Studio keeps no DAZ|Studio specific content in the Runtime directory, that is where it keeps Poser content. Poser doesn't duplicate the Runtime, it references it. Point Poser at the directory beneath the Runtime directory, in the case of "C:Program FilesDAZStudioContentRuntime" that would be "C:Program FilesDAZStudioContent". For an external runtime you do the same, eg for "F:RuntimesMilleniumRuntime" you would point Poser at "F:RuntimesMillenium".
Thread: DAZ Studio & Advanced Library Tutorial? | Forum: DAZ|Studio
Advanced Library? I think you need the DAZ|Studio version of the PRPC (Poser Remote Procedure Call) it's at
http://www.pontari.com/Products/DazStudio/prpc/
there is a thread about it at http://forum.daz3d.com/viewtopic.php?t=77154&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=72
beyond that, I have no idea.
Thread: Arriving from nowhere and sniffing around here to collect some staff for beginne | Forum: DAZ|Studio
The majority of Poser Content should work in DAZ|Studio.
The only things that specifically don't work are procedural textures, dynamic hair and dynamic clothing (P5+); and files that use PMD style morphs (P6+ external morphs).
All is not lost, however. PMD external morphs can be made usable with the free MorphExchange by Kuroyume http://www.kuroyumes-developmentzone.com/index.html
and/or a free DAZ studio plugin, InjectPMD by DeltaX15 http://forum.daz3d.com/viewtopic.php?t=72737
They don't work perfectly, but they do allow the use of many PMD morphs.
CRZ, PZZ, OBZ and other compressed files can be uncompressed with winzip (or any other zip program), and recent DAZ|Studio versions (1.7+) should read them, anyway.
Even though P4 style textures and lights work in DAZ|Studio, they still need to be tweaked as DAZ|Studio has different lighting and texture systems than Poser, among other differences.
The reason that Merchants put "Not tested in DAZ|Studio", is that many don't have the time to learn a new program, test all their products in it and possibly even create DAZ|Studio specific materials for them. It also stops people from asking why the item looks different in DAZ|Studio. People do really do that, I'm afraid I did it once.
Edit: Spelling
Thread: Right Here ! ... Right Now ! ... Another Free Class For You ! ... ;=] | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Thanks Doc :) It always amazes me the complex things you can do with the Poser primitives. I think in many ways we are quite spoilt today with the plethora of free and cheap modelling programs. I remember my first attempt at using POVRay - Ooh a shiney ball on a chequered plane! and is that CLOUDS in the backgroud! Oohh look REFLECTIONS! I think in some ways many of us have lost that innocence. I know I have :`( , yet you seem to have preserved it. Well, as long as you are there to show us we don't have to break out Lightwave or Blender to build a simple (or quite complex) geometric shape, there will be some sense of wonder :)
