Thread: -Urban Future II- | Forum: MarketPlace Showcase
So, any news on this set? Will this be released before or after the Mediterranean one?

I can't help much with LoD, or modelling with SubD specifically for Studio, but I have gone the other way and used the subD dragon in C4D through a hypernurbs, and it works wonderfully, see the image in my gallery. So I suspect the low poly cage -or a lower subdivision of it- should work fine as a subD figure. You should be able to use the same rigging for both subD and full res, although of course the morphs will need to be re-created in the cr2. Talking of which, I really should upload the full Dragon Flock image :)
Anyway, no problem. I do have something on the pipeline at DAZ that I've worked on with Trav that is high poly, and has quite a complex shader, so I know sometimes you HAVE to have the polys for things to look right.
As for this outfit, thank you for the offer. I don't think I'll be finished with my "to do" pile before you are ready to release this, so I don't think I'll be able to do extra textures, but it looks like an item I will definitely be buying once it's released :)

Connie: content creator and user. I do create covers for books, so Poser having a fit about rendering an outfit big can be a pain, and since the rendering size for print are hideously large, reducing texture sizes is usually not an option. So when I do create content, I try to create stuff that would be useful for me, but I also try to keep in mind the combined results of everything put together: base model, hair, skin textures, clothing, scenery.

Yes and no. Remember that I do work with high rez textures, specularity, displacement, and bump normally, lots of nodes... so add to that a very high poly model and it can be difficult to handle. Not for me, because my system is fine. I have a dual core machine with 4Gb of RAM, so that isn't an issue for me. But if I'm thinking of possibly making a texture expansion for something, and it's very high poly, then it can get hairy... I know I've had people telling me that they can't work with a full Roxana set with my textures above a certain render size because Poser flat out refuses to render it in their systems.

Connie, this outfit looks awesome. One teensy question... what is the polycount so far?

Or it could be that it is under development, and those that got copies and are beta testing can't say a word because of their NDAs. And this goes for both SM and DAZ.
Although I do agree that Smith Micro might not really be fully aware of how the community works; but for a long while, it was thought that Poser5 was "mythical". As for Studio and cloth, you only have to go to Artzone and check Dan Farr's member gallery to view the "mythical" dynamic cloth in action, as well as other interesting stuff. Problem is, sometimes things take much longer than expected to iron things out; heck, P7 couldn't run a proper cloth simulation without issues until SR2, and the same goes for P6.
Maybe it would be a good idea for the Poser/SM crew to come in here and reassure us of what is going on, and what we can expect. In the meantime, I am willing to give them a break until the transition is finished and they find the community's pulse so to speak.

John: no need to create a second image node, she can just run the link from the one she's got there right now.

CHange the falloff to 0. Also make sure that if you are using reflections or any other effect of the sort, it's properly masked using the transmap.

There used to be something called "Poser Merchant Utility" but I can't find it. In the meantime, that list maker should help

Motura: which site? PoserPros? they will, if you used a freebie email account when you sign up. Email Gaurie ( storeadmin@poserpros.com ), he's the admin there; direct him to this thread and explain you are trying to find beta testers. You could also submit the set to their store, you know :)
Renderosity will reject a submission if you've failed three times, you can't resubmit within one month I think, and then you need to provide the names of two of your beta testers. Take the time to have the set tested by people using the English version of Poser, and make sure you also have an english speaker check the Readme, as Renderosity has very strict guidelines on what should be in the Readme and how.
Thread: Does nobody understand Japanese from the AD user? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Motura: you normally advertise yourself for them; there is a forum for beta testers offered in PoserPros. Check out here http://poserpros.daz3d.com/forums/viewforum.php?f=18 and see if anybody lists AD as one of the characters they work with. Failing that, one of my beta testers uses AD, I believe, so when I see him I will ask him if he's willing to work with you on that. But try the classified ads, or post a message in this forum asking for beta testers for your product.
Just make sure that the people who are testing for you are THOROUGH; there is a lot of people that will tell you they beta-test and will just load the item once, do a couple of poses and mark it as "good" when it might not be the case.
I don't speak japanese, but I've been a merchant for a while, so if I can be of any further assistance, send me a PM through here and I'll try to help :)
