I haven't the time nor the inclination to read thru every single post in this thread. I don't do renders of children or Fae, so this new TOS doesn't really affect me...but it does affect a lot of truly great artists. All I can say is that near as I can tell, Blackhearted is about the only voice of reason I am hearing in here...and as for andy_k....Moron comes to mind.

I rarely enter contests, only because I know my limitations. But they have been a fact of life in this community for awhile now. They are fun, they are inspiring. People sometimes do their greatest art in a competition. I've entered a couple...even got an Honerable Mention in one and if I find that that image has been deleted (haven't looked yet) I am gonna be seriously pissed. Ok, so I am already seriously pissed....all that aside...did I wake up in friggan RUSSIA tonight??? I cannot believe this BS. WTF is going on here?? Since when did artistic expression become something that goes agains the TOS here. This whole situation makes me SICK. Someone in TPTB needs to get a grip and realize that the spirit of competion is a part of life, and there ain't nothing wrong with contests. GAWD...now peeps gotta get some kinda sick permission to even hold one??? The more I am here, the more disallusioned I become. I long for the good old days when this site was about ART and the Expression thereof. I am pissed....seriously PISSED>

Just to put a little perspective on this from a Renderosity old timer (been around here about 6 years or so), and because I do an occasional fractal, I wanted to mention what is probably a little known fact except to us few old timers....Used to be the Hot Twenty in any gallery was based on the number of views a particular image got. Heck, I used to make it there on a regular basis back then, but not because of any grandiose artistic abilities, because I have none, and not because I had a lot of friends because I barely knew anyone in those days...Nope, I made it there because my specialty was Pin Up art, and everyone loves looking at a pretty girl with very little on :-) Anyway, my point is, no matter how it is handled, there will always be an issue with the Hot Twenty. Whether it be by votes or views or any other way the Powers that Be decide to do it, no one will ever be completely happy with the way it works. Like the old saying goes:"You can make some of the people happy all of the time. You can make all of the people happy some of the time. But you can never make all of the people happy all of the time". So lets just all go out and create beautiful art....after all, that's why we come here, right? And to heck with the Hot Twenty...it's nice, but it is not the be all and end all of this website...it's just a small part of it. I've made so many wonderful friends here, and I've had a great time doing my little artistic endeavors. If I make it to the Hot Twenty...hey, that's cool, but my main aim is to have fun and to create things that give others pleasure :-) And that is my two cents worth, which in the grand stream of things, really ain't worth much :-)

Just been kinda lurking around keeping an eye on this thread for no other reason than curiousity, but I gotta tell ya, that last remark by CriminallyInsane about the paint fumes totally cracked me up. Now this would normally not be a big deal as when I laugh out loud at home my neighbors know not to think anything of it cuz they know I am a few sandwiches short of a picnic, but when I do it at work, I tend to get some pretty strange looks...Anyhoo...thank you Matt for the best giggle I've had all day :-)
