retrocity, I thought you were supposed to set the offset to half the width and half the height. Does your way effectively do the same thing? Rich
Thread: waterfall image attn: gebe :) | Forum: Vue
Hey, that looks pretty good! I've tried and tried, but never gotten a decent looking waterfall out of Vue without postwork. Rich

Thread: how can you create a vortex in photoshop ? | Forum: Photoshop
Hmm...maybe I should clarify that. I created the image by following the tutorial in the book, so the idea isn't mine originally.

Cool! I should have known you would be on top of the situation, Micheleh. (no offense Clint. ;))

Ok, possibly some dumb questions, but I know next to nothing about how the Marketplace works. Are there any plans to advertise the sale of art prints outside the renderosity membership, or would members have to drive traffic to their little corner of the marketplace? Can someone who isn't a member buy prints, or would they have to sign up? Rich
Thread: The free stuff area has been changed | Forum: Community Center
I wasn't trying to flame you, just discuss it is all. Maybe defaulting to not specified would have been a better idea, but I'm sure they had alot going on at the time. I just don't see as it's worth getting overly upset about.

All you had to do was edit them, not re-do them completely. Also, you can't really expect the Admins to dowload all the freestuff items, check the licence, and mark them appropriatly. It's alot easier for the contributors to edit their items. Like I said they had to mark them somehow, so I think they just decided to err on the side of caution. Rich

ironhart: It seems to me that they erred on the side of caution. Freestuff items should have a licence text file with them describing any usage restrictions. The fact that all the items are labeled as a default non-commercial doesn't over-ride that. All it takes is editing your freestuff items a bit to correct this as you see fit I would assume. People have been asking for these changes for a while now, and I'm glad to see that the PTB are listening. Rich
Thread: RE: Why Isn't There A Book On Vue | Forum: Vue
A book on Vue? I think it's safe to say I'll buy it as soon as it hits the shelves. Some advanced info on the terrain editor would be great (I'm pretty much hit-or-miss with it now). An area in particular I'd like to see addressed is the use of filters, both in the terrain and material editors. Good luck with the book! Rich

I had trouble with the link too. This one should work, though. That looks like it's well worth the $35 registration fee just to get Arboretum!
