Poser 4, Raydream Studio, and most modeling programs will have tools equipped to do this.
Thread: bmp to obj? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
There's a PhotoShop plugin found at http://www.puffindesigns.com/products/cybermesh.html which allows you to make obj files from any format PhotoShop can read. I'm not sure how useful it it, but it looked promising. Anyone know if this does groups so that we can make Poser figures using it?
Thread: Posted doors and stuff | Forum: Bryce
Fanatstically Amazing! Excellent work, and thanks for sharing. The Bryce funstuff is currently in the testing phase, and the Bryce Forum pages will be available to the public by the end of August.
Thread: Texture Alignment | Forum: Bryce
Try moving the texture using the tools in bryce. I worked on one texture for a friend that was around 70 vertical units off.

Poser works by having string references to the geometries and incorporating props. The cr2 files and pz3 files contain no geometry data except for morphs. All that stuff is what tells Poser how the geometry moves. Bryce would have to be completely redesigned and would take up 80 times the space on your computer if it used the geometry linking system.

That would be a poser commands in Bryce :-) Picture objects still cast shadows in bryce and you could do several different men to make objects of. This isn't the same thing as background tiling (that doesn't work at all). I'll make an example scene, if you'd like.
Thread: How do you make laser beams?? | Forum: Bryce
Lasers are simple for the PC user: Press ctrl and click on the parallel (rectangular) light object. This makes a cylindrical light. Go into the lights options, turn on volume visible, turn off falloff and turn on infinite light. Adjust colors as you see fit. For the mac user, well, sorry.

OK, here's what you do: Render an image of army guy #1 in Bryce (export image) and then render an alpha channel of it (export image). Now Create a Picture Object in Bryce, loading the image as the diffuse map and the channel and the transperancy. You can also do a depth render and name this as the bump map for more realistic shadows. Duplicate the picture object a few dozen times for your army without adding 20 meg.
Thread: Poser/Bryce | Forum: Bryce
You have to ungroup the object after you import it. Then each material will be treated as a seperate object and you can give them seperate materials.
Thread: New Image .. The Sword and The Stone.. | Forum: Bryce
Good atmospheric effects. You may want to move the mountains & tree a bit closer and maybe make them surround the sword a bit more for a more in-the-scene feel.

There's a program called Decimator out there, I don't recall the URL. The program isn't shareware or freeware, but it comes with pretty good recommendation.
