Quote - John the lamps look great! I really admire you and any who create props, clothing, lights, ect.
I have been dealing with an illness and my creativity has gone down the drain. If it hadn't been for Callad allowing me to test the new light set she is working on I probably wouldn't be rendering. We just got a new version of the light set to test and this is one of my renders with using the mesh light and Gel light.
Nice, what outfit is that?
I hope you feel better soon!

Nice modeling on the eagle lamp.

Quote - Hello.
Yesterday I presented Reality 3 for Poser at Poser Expo. I know that we have here several users of both Poser and Studio so this might be of interest to some of you.
Pricing and availability of Reality 3 for Poser has been announced:

Cheers.
Fantastic news! Glad the expo went well!
Even though I now prefer DS over poser2012, I will be first in line for the poser version to try out the new features and also to show my support.

I have no use for it not with almost 200G of content in my DS Runtime alone.....
Same here, no desire and no need to use it. Hopefully it will never becaome mandatory. Same with meta data

Quote - To further along the automobile metaphors.... for years I drove this muscle car called a Poser.... the last one I had was the 2012 model year. It was a great car.. picked up lots of chicks with it. But, it had a gps I never used(all the extra tabs like the material room) had no radio(Genesis) and I really had to fiddle with the a/c to get it to work(fitting clothes). Then I saw an ad for this new and improved economy car called DazStudio. I had driven it back when it sucked and was hesitant. But, the ppl who drove it said that the radio was terrific and the a/c was icy cold. So, I tried it. Loved it... vowed to always drive it. But, I couldn't pick up any more chicks in it because it wasn't my tried and true poser(translated 3delight sucks compared to firefly). Then came along this Italian auto genius named Paolo(why is it always the italians who make cars extra-sexy?).... he told me he could put a chip in my car that would make it faster than the Poser I had and that the chicks would come flocking to see what was under the hood of my DazStudio. It was all true.. my little D|S runs like a dream, I've learned to use it's own version of gps. The a/c is still arctic cold and the radio is crisp and loud. So.. along comes another auto engineer who wants to put some other engine in my DazStudio??? No way.. I'll stick to Italian engineering thank you very much. As long as Paolo doesn't turn my DazStudio into a Fiat I'll be just fine.
LOL, great analogy and exactly fits for me also.
just viewed the threads about Luxor at DAZ and from what i can see, price point is the only advantage. Definitely a few new lost Lux users now, but i am not going to help new lux users using Luxor, gotta show some loyalty. Paolo has gone above and beyond with Reality.

Nice work, I knew you'd be picking London up when released. To fair skinned for my tastes. I love Milan from Danae for V3 and always hoped she would do a V4 version.

**The best way to describe it is that Garibaldi is to hair, what Reality is to renders. ** That Mohawk Hair was designed on the default Genesis Head. I Morphed it to Anubus after all that, then rendered it in Reality.
There are issues with Reality renders. There are a lot of hairs on a head, and Garibaldi exports an OBJ as individual hairs. Long hair generates huge OBJ files. You only get one shader per OBJ in Reality. So you may want several flavors of the same hair for more detail.
On the plus side I didn't notice any performance issues with the render at all.
Damn, I just bought LAMH 2 weeks ago and haven't had much time to play with it and have been looking at Garibaldi hair also. My first few tries with LAMH gave me great results with animals, but i haven't gotten good results with people yet.

**FSMCDesigns **I've been thinking about getting Poser. How was it to go to Ds instead?
Whats better and worse?
Depends on the user and what you do with it. I have poser versions from 5 thru 2012 and never had any issues with them. I tried DS quite a few times but never liked the user interface. then came Reality, the DS plugin for the Luxrender renderer, so i had to learn DS in order to use it. Now with DS4.5 i rarely use poser at all. I find character creation, scene setup and getting clothing to fit any figure with genesis a HUGE time saver than doing the same thing in poser. I do love poser dynamic cloth and miss a few of the python scripts I have in it, but I still prefer DS now.
I look at it this way, DS is for new users and poser is for more advanced users since there more options in getting from point A to point B. Bottom line, if you are problems with the basics of clothes fitting in DS, Poser will not be easier.

Quote - v4 clothes will never fit as well as genesis, as genesis is the fix to this exact problem weve had for years, you do know that you can autofit v4 clothes to genesis and all its shapes right?
just keep at it and maybe look at some tuts for ds.
You can get V4 clothes to fit exactly like genesis, I do. I used poser before DS and since i use custom body morphs for all my characters, i just used a free script from Dimension3D to create a full body morph for them, saved a copy of that figure to the library and then used morphing clothes to add that FBM to any clothing i want, fits perfect most times and with the smoothing modifier in DS4.5 you can get a perfect fit just like on genesis..

Quote - > Quote - You've been busy Charley, very impressive list of contents and your renders are excellent (as per usual).
Personally I got bored and started one of those WIP projects where I fill a room with odds and sods, I need to add a curtain pole and some scatter cushions, then look at it again (and again) :)
It's a great WIP, would like to see the final result :)
Agreed, nice work.
