Thread: how do i get non pixelated text | Forum: Photoshop
dang...svdf beat me to saying it... yes hes is right though... when you type out a text line in PhotoShop it is vector. Only when you flatten the image will the text become a raster graphic. He was also correct on how to correct ths problem. 72 DPI is for webgraphics only. if you have a picture that you want to print for framing, or just to look good... 250-300 dpi is the LEAST you can make it. 600 DPI is crisp and clear, unfortunatly that means Extreme file size as well as your cpu possibly going BOOM... most output ceters(business that print images, ect) usually love the 300 dpi image... now heres the thing.... if you have a 8x10 @ 72 dpi and yu add text to it then bump it to 300 dpi.... lol if you hate pixels then.. youll hate this worse. my suggestion is, start an image from scratch... 300 dpi then.. finish it... print it out and waa laa... another thing... after you do all of this... it might still be pixeled.... then this is your Printers fault. take your image to Kincos... Office Depot... Copy Max... Office max... or anywhere they do printing... then youll get a clean cut image... i have alot of students that have this problem.... output centers always fix it though.

id just like to add that, if it wasnt for Photoshop, alot more of this poser "Art" would totally look bogus. We as a 2D communitee in this forum area weld a program that has little or no 2D bounderys. The are many 2D artists that ONLY use PS as their medium (like myself), and even more that use this program to edit their other program renders. Grim had a point (is currently burried under 22 posts that have derailed into another topic). but... It is true some/alot of the time PS artists get overlooked... which i suppose why there isnt a PS art gallery on renderosity, seeing as there are more people using this as a tool rather than a medium. I hope one day I will be able to post my work in a PhotoShop gallery on here... but who knows.. probly never happen. I am glad of one thing though, Adobe creating Elements. I feel as if it seperates the tru PS artist from the render editor, Making us more unique.

ok.. i just called them... they said the sales staff knows abotu upcoming releases within 6 months of them happening.. because they now offer a new PReorder option... and they said.. it is eather not in the works yet.. or has just started.. because they have heard nothign bout it ... but they are going to be releaseing a 7.01 version to registered customers in the end of july. so.. i dunno.. :shaked head:

unfortunatly... leaks are like little old women sittin around at bingo... tryin to see what story would come up soundign beefier... not knckin your source.. but everytime i get my hopes up on a rumor.. well.. i get dissapointed... and if 8 wer ein the making... it wouldnt be till late 2004-2005 till it was out... if its anything liek the beta of 7.0 there will be months of testing. but why would they publicly say WE are making a 7.01 if they are working on a 8.0... they made a 6.01 1 year after 6 was released, correctign some errors they nvr caught. that was in.. like..2000? sumthing like that. all i have to say is theyd better not start spitting version out Like FLIPPING AOL does... there are only a few of us left that actually pay for software nowadays... theyd better not start puttin out 200-400$ upgrades every 18 months... grrr lol

certified is basically a Gold stamp put on yur forhead stating you know more than 85% of all components of PS7... why you ask? 1 reason.... if you applying for a production job at a studio.. and you compeating along with 3 other artists.. with the same resume... and portfolio... if your the only one with the certification.. you will get the job. this if every1 else is equal in resume and portfolio.... basically states by adobe... :this man named here on this certificate is the shit at Photoshop7, and might as well be part of our staff he is so well knoweldged in it. also.. 2nd reason.. alot of college professors required gettin certified... to Teach any class that deasl with adobe photoshop 3rd... you get put on the adobe website with your contact information... and you can actually train other people fully at photoshop... and get paid for it... like a fanchise... u pay 300 to get you diploma... and you go out tutoring students... or other FX artists.. and charge them $$$ that u dont owe Adobe.... there are many perks in it... it is a Definite requirement to get certified in the software of your medium.. if u desire high up jobs.... hope that answers it.

wow... yomah talks? lol theres a 1st... jk... uh yea... i agree with retro on this one... 6 is fine for touchups... 7 takes origonal PS art to a whoel new level though. only bad thing about upgrades are.. if you diside to get certified with adobe. i was schedualed for my PS6 test i had to take through adobe to get certified a few years back... and before my test date came up.. they released7.... i almost died... now im abotu to take the test again... kinda scared if 8 comes out soon. its a lot of money for a piece of paper.. that doesnt travel with you to the next version. =( 1 thing though... if anoy1 has 4 through 6 do not waiste your $ on elements... now theres a crock... its the same thing as 6.1 butout all the bells and whistels... if you dont have any PS and dont wanna spend 800 on the latest version.. elements rocks. all depends where you are comign from.
