Glad to hear it's working for you. Remember, Photoshop is the ultimate game, it doesn't count as work if you're enfoying it. Let me know if you need me to do the step by step with pictures. - Ken -
Thread: Tiles help!! | Forum: Photoshop
In the "Goodies" folder on my Photoshop 7 CD I found a filter called "Texture Fill.8BF" that will tile any image in PSD format into a selection. It appears to be a legacy from the days before "fill with pattern". It's probably on your CD if it's not already installed in your plug-ins folder. - Ken Heronheart -

Sorry, I must not have been clear. My Algebra teacher always complained that I left out steps when doing proofs at the board. No quick mask mode. Duplicate your text, rasterize it, "rough up" the edges a little bit using the airbrush in diffuse mode, color black. Do the same thing with white in areas where you want extra light. Then hit it with Radial Blur a couple times. Be sure to move the center of the blur to the center of your text. Now erase the parts of the blur that are obscuring the parts of your text that you want to see. You can do that with the eraser, but I prefer to add a "Layer Mask" and use a soft airbrush, color black to do it. You'll probably want to add a "Levels Adjustment Layer" on top of everything and slide the white arrow on the right towards the center in order to brighten up the image when you're done. I'll try and post a step by step later today. Part of the problem is that I rarely do anything the same way twice. Right now I have to go "pretend to work". Keep trying. I just upgraded to PS 7 and am only now getting around to trying some features that were added in 5.5 - Ken -

Check the tablet maker's web site. Photoshop 7 would not respond to pressure on my Wacom Graphire2 Tablet until I downloaded the newest driver which was released in March of 2002.
Thread: how to give spotlight effect | Forum: Photoshop
It really depends on exactly what you want. You could try filter/render/lighting effects. Or you could select the area you want lighted and use a levels layer. Or you could crreate a layer set to "soft light" and paint the area you want lighted with white. - Ken Heronheart -

I'm not sure if 5LE has this, but try Filter/Other/Offset. set it for about half the pixel dimensions of your page. That will show you where your seams are. Now use the clone tool to cover over your seams. Stay away from the edges of the image or you will create new seams. Run the offset filter a few more times at random settings to make sure you've gotten all the seams. "Define Pattern" usually won't show up in the menu unless you've made a rectangular selecton with no feathering.
Thread: Alpha Channels? | Forum: Photoshop
If you go to Google and type in "photoshop alpha channel tutorial" you should come up with a number of tutorials. The one at http://tiemdesign.com/HOWTO/2000a/Mar/PSTut1/default.htmf seems to do a fair job of explaining Alpha channels. Ken Heronheart Oakfire Studios : http://www.oakfire.com

You could also try getting a photo of a waterfall and using the Clone Stamp tool on lighten mode to add it to your project.
